Library, 4pm , Archaelogy Club

Evie was looking very sadly at the maps today. There were nice buttery croissants in a basket next to her, and coffee and Caff-Pow! She'd perk up after a sip of Caff-Pow!, then look sad again.

"It looks like my research was inaccurate. I have to find some new sites to investigate, because one of them was cleared away, the other one turned out to be on the mainland-- and the last, the ship, might still be there? But the location could be anywhere." She sighed. "Anyone have ideas of what to do in the meantime?"

"We could visit the Alexandria Archaeology museum (http://oha.alexandriava.gov/archaeology/). They have a lot of hands on exhibits and collections." Blair said with a bounce.

"Ohhh! That sounds like a brilliant idea!" Evie took a huge slurp on her Caff-Pow!, and looked gleeful. "I haven't even been off the Island to 2006 America, yet. But this would be *perfect*!"

"You're kidding. We really need to go, then." Blair nodded. "It gives you a chance to study history and the future all at once!"

"Yay!" Evie did a little chair dance, and said, "Should we go on a Tuesday afternoon, then, about the time of our usual meeting? And ohh, can we take the 'Metro'?"

Blair laughed at the chair dance and shook his head. "Just what are you drinking?"

"It makes sense to go on the same night as our meeting and I don't know about taking the Metro. The last time we took a trip we took buses, but maybe since we're a small group we could get away with something else."

"Caff-Pow! Professor Abby drinks it! They stock it at All & SUndries and at the Kwik-Stop, and I need to get more soon." Slurrrrrp. "It's delicious *and* it makes me very awake!"

"Oooo. I suppose it will depend on how many people wish to go, then. And if Dr. Jackson and Dr. Covington think we need to take a bus." Evie smiled widely. "I hope next week isn't *too* soon. That would be -- cool."

Blair leaned over and peered closely at Evie's pupils. "I can see that. How much do you drink?"

"Hmm. This is my-- third cup? Of the day?" She looked consideringly at the 20-oz. cup in her hand. "I do wonder what would happen if I drank five or so. Do you think I'd ever sleep?"

"You know what? You might want to do some research to see if there are any nasty side effects." Blair grinned. "Before you overdose on it."

Evie's eyes crinkled up as she took another sip. "I could write a paper?"

"Are lots of other people drinking it? You could write a paper on how it affects people differently." Blair bounced.

Evie did a little chair dance. "Oo! I know Professor Abby is, but I'm not sure about other people. I could offer it to them? And then ask them how they feel, and if it helps them study, or if they just want to run around and talk very loudly. Which seems to be what it does to me."

Blair snickered and nodded. "Sounds like a good plan so far. You should ask Professor Abby if she knows who else is drinking it or put up a flyer and offer free Caff-Pow to any volunteers."

"Perfect!" Evie clapped her hands together, research distracting her as nothing else could. "Do you want to participate?"

"Participate as in give you advice and loan you post-it notes or participate as in consume large amounts of potentially addictive sugary beverages." Blair asked.

"Both?" Evie said, attempting to look pleading, instead of delighted.

"It's a good thing you're my little sister." Blair shook his head with a smile. "Otherwise I would say no."

"I'm in for whatever you need, Evie."

"Oh, yay!" As the mun starts planning, bwahaha. "Perhaps next week, after Homecoming? I can set up a testing protocol by then." She looked hopeful. "Maybe a booth in the lobby? Or a contest!"

"Next week sounds great." Blair grinned. "Maybe some tests first and then a contest to see who can drink the most?"

"Perfect!" Evie looked thoughtful. "I'd better stock up. The more data, the better. So probably at least a dozen cases of it."

In a computer somewhere Abby's stock in Caff-Pow went up by several points.

"You should see if Professor Abby knows a supplier where you can get it for cheap. I don't want you to go broke over research projects."

"Oh, good point. I have her class tomorrow, I can ask her then." Evie looked even more cheerful. "Perhaps they'd give us a discount for science projects!"
