Student Council [lunchtime]

Josh was in a fantastic mood.

And no, he wasn't going to tell you why.

When the members of Student Council had walked into the room he greeted them with a bright smile.

"Today we've got a lot of things to get through, but I know you're all anxious to get to the school assembly, so let's see if we can't get through them fairly quickly." He looked around the room. "Homecoming is next week and we need to organize the voting for Homecoming Court, decide what kinds of things need to be included for the carnival, and sell tickets and organize the dance. I have decided that the sophomore class representatives will be in charge of organizing the court, the juniors will handle the carnival, and the seniors will head up the dance."

He grinned at the freshman representatives. "I haven't forgotten about you guys--I'm just letting you be recruited by the other classes if they need more hands."

He linked his hands behind his head and tipped back in his chair. "We also need to elect a president from among you to serve as my chief...staffer. Not minion. Personally, I'd prefer a senior, but it's entirely up to you. Look around the room, decide which of you twelve you'd like to lead, and drop that name into the ballot box on my desk." Josh pointed to it.

"Questions, comments, funny stories?"

ETA: Following the election, Josh tallied the votes. "Congratulations, Alanna," he said, grinning, "our new Student Council president."

Jamie raises his hand. "I'd like to have the student council support an event where the common room is turned into a utopia of sorts for everyone to enjoy."

"Well if my conversations with other students are true," Jamie said pulling out a notepad. "It should contain free food, shirtlessness, boykissy, girlkissy and lots of bitterwoman reruns."

"What did I forget something?" Jamie said looking over the list. "You're right. There's supposed to be glitter as well."

"Orgy? I don't have any requests for that," Jamie said shaking his head. "Just shirtlessness and the kissing. And glitter."

JD raises his hand.

"What about a dance-off?" It's obvious that he is quite serious.

JD starts bobbing his head to non-existant music.

Oh yeah, who's got the grooves.

"At the dance. It could be a Homecoming Battle! Best dancer wins the biggest crown!"

JD listens to himself for a moment.

"Or something."

That crown is no mine.

"Rockin'".

This is gonna be the best dance EVER.

JD heads over to the seniors.

"Something wrong with your head?" Jamie asked. "It's kind of bobbing all around."

JD stopped bobbing and tried to think quickly.

"I'm just... testing my neck muscles."

"Oh yeah?" Jamie said imitating the head bob. "Like this?"

JD looked at Jaime like he'd lost his mind.

Did I look like that?

"You know, you look a bit like a chicken when you do that."

JD proceded to demonstrate, complete with flapping arms, bobbing head and clucking noises.

John Dorian, master of misdirection.

"But I was doing the same move you were doing," Jamie said looking a little confused.

Pippi raised her hand.

"On the subject of food, some of my constituency have brought to my attention that some students are very poor or even flat broke, and yet the school only provides a lunch on weekdays." Pippi said. "On a related note, I notice that the cafeteria also has something of a bad rep. Though I've never seen any ill effects as a result of the food there. I think we should discuss ways we can expand meals available to students who can't afford or are in some way unable to cook for themselves, and also improve the general opinion of the cafeteria."

"More food, better food. I like it. I know there's money to consider, but we could see about getting the kitchen staff to figure out a contract with the food businesses in town to offer meals available at the school, spice things up with variety."

"And there's quite a few student's who can cook. Perhaps we could start a program where the school provides food that student volunteers prepare a couple of times a week."

"I can make pancakes. I'm a pancake ninja."

"Reeeally. I also make pancakes... I'm a pancake pirate."

"I think pirates and ninjas are meant to be mortal enemies," Kawalsky replied. He paused for a moment. "If I'm your mortal pancake enemy, does this mean I can't have any more of those meatballs you made when we were little?"

"Bringing back game night? Those were fairly popular. And Sam and I were talking about an obstacle course earlier this summer, that might be fun."
