Frankly, it was too early for Sam to be doing much of anything except sip at his coffee and try not to doze off.

Sam is off at his Prophecy lab, but there might be someone else around who can help you.

Sam was back, and doing some quasi-aimless Google searching on Reapers and similar spirits.

Time for homework, oh joy!

The library was closed for lunch, except for aides and the librarian. Sam made his own lunch, so sharing probably wasn't the safest idea.

Sam stuck around for a little bit, in case anyone needed anything before the assembly.

Angela's still around. "Hey, Sam," she said, glancing up from her notebook."

Like Angela, who is sitting behind the counter working on a college application.

"Hey," he greeted her, smiling. "I see the books didn't eat you while I was gone."

"A few nibbles, but nothing much," Angela agreed. "Maybe they aren't hungry today."

"Good morning, Sam," Peter said quietly as he came into the library just before lunch.

Lavender bounced up tot he desk holding a stack of cookbooks.
"Hi! I'm just returning these but I'm not sure they might be late. I've had them for two weeks."

Lavender waved. "Hey, how're you?"

"Very well, thank you," Peter replied with a smile for Lavender. "I've not seen you around for a bit. Are you doing well?"

"I've been ill but I'm doing much better. How are you?"

Sam smiled and waved at Peter. "Hey, how's it going?"

"That would be good. Is it bad that I haven't quite ventured back towards Special Collections yet?" Sam asked. "I'm still a little weary after everything I've heard from people who have been back there."

"I can check, but I think you're fine." Sam grinned as he looked over the books. "Are you a cook, or trying to learn how to be one?"

"Oh, that's too bad," Peter said sympathetically. "Right at the start of the term too." He grinned. "And I continue to be doing well."

"Quite well, and yourself?" Peter replied, smiling. He wrinkled his nose. "Except that I somehow ended up with an extra paper to write for class."

"Learning. I wanted to make stuff for all the people who feed me here. It was pretty successful. I'll probably do it again soon."

"How're you? It's Sam right? Or Dean?" She bit her lip.

"I managed not to miss any classes. At least techinically I was there, not sure I absorbed anything." She shrugged. "You're runign the fencing club, right?"

"There's still lots of time to catch up," Peter replied. "At least there is since you're not in US government. We had a test this week." He nodded. "Yes indeed, myself and Hamlet are doing it this year."

"I'll have to keep an eye out for your cooking. Or a nose, I guess," he said, laughing.

"I'm good. And yes, it's Sam." He grinned and pushed his hair in front of his eyes. "You can usually tell by the hair."

"I'm pretty good. And not saddled with an extra paper, which is always good." Sam snickered. "Is the extra paper punishment, or did you accidentally talk yourself into it?"

"We had a quiz in Prophecy but I think I did ok."

"Hmm I don't know Hamlet but I spose I'll meet him since I've signed up."

"I knew theere was something about the hair but I couldn't remember which was which." She grinned. "Enjoying the library? You must get plenty of homework done."

"I think it's a bit of both," Peter replied, looking sheepish. "Apparently Lady Harrington finds the historical context very important."

"Did you? I thought I saw your name on the list, but then I thought I must be mistaken," Peter said. "That's brilliant!"

Lavender bit her lip and smiled. "Yeah it seemed intersting. I expect you won't be the only surpised one." She grinned.

He shook his head, worried. "No, no, I didn't mean that I was surprised you signed up. Just that I didn't see you on Tuesday. I'm very glad you did."

Lavender smiled. "I decided I was too out of it on Tuesday to hold anyhting that pointy."

"Probably a good idea," Peter agreed. "It was an interesting meeting though. Joxer annoyed Alanna and got soundly beaten for his troubles. Everything else seemed to go smoothly."

Lavender shook her head. "I would have liked to see that."

Sam did his best not to snicker more. "Oops. Well, is there anything I can help you find?"

Peter grinned at Sam's attempts not to snicker. "Yes, well, I suppose if worst comes to worst, it'll help me on the final. Could you help me find a copy of Hobbes' Leviathan?

"Alanna is a brilliant swordswoman," Peter said. "I'm sure she'll demonstrate her skill again."

"I do get quite a bit of homework done," he admitted. "And so far, working here has been awesome. I like being surrounded by books all day."

"Ah, another book lover. I'm used to avoiding libraries. Though it's bit different here."

"Honestly, it has moods," Angela said. "I try to stay out of it - I had this very weird bad experience -- but plenty of people go back and come out fine. But no need to risk it if you don't have to."

"Oh yeah? What's so different about the library here?" he asked.

"It's less scary and intimidating. Plus I have less school work here so reading for fun seems less ridicuolous." She grinned.

"Reading for fun is not a ridiculous thing at all," Sam replied. "Although, I might be a bit biased in my thinking."

*tries to pretend that this thread isn't late*

"Well you do work in the library." Lavender observed. She twirled her hair around her finger. "I'm uh not of this world. Got any classics I should... light reading."

"Never let it be said that you don't know how to put a positive spin on things," Sam replied, turning to the computer catalog to see where the book might be located. "You're in luck, we've got one copy." He wrote the call number down and gave it to Peter, pointing to the appropriate set of shelves. "It should be over there, just follow the numbers and you'll find it."

"Thank you, Sam," Peter replied, chuckling. "I appreciate the help." He followed Sam's directions to find the book.
