I can't stay, I'm in the middle of putting down a goblin rebellion. There's a lot of badly-made machinery involved.

I simply need an update from each of you on the status of your last assignment.

*Paige smiles and whispers* Thanks

*She speaks louder now* Yep, three nipples! I was pretty suprised. *She's pretty sure Jareth will see through this, but she doesn't especailly care if he kicks her out.

*she whispers again* Is it just me or is this class sorts mean?

Xander nods. "Guess you can't be too surprised, with 'manipulation' in the class name. But yeah, at my old school, they would never have come right out and taught you how to take advantage of people."

He snorts.

"Of course, at my old school, they'd never have come right out and said the dead guy in the hallway was murdered; they'd try to tell you he died of old age in biology class, then gangs on PCP stuffed him in your locker."

*Paige smiles* I didn't really think it meant manipulation like that, I thought it was like manipulating objects or something, plus it was the magic class there was.

Did people die at lot at your old school then?

"Oh, like telekinisis? That would be cool to learn. Willow can float pencils with her brain."

Xander considers the death and dying question. "A lot? I guess it depends how you define a lot. Like is two or three a day not really that many, until you balance it out with the whole swim team at once?"

[ooc - remembers just in time that she hit reply in Netscape and not Firefox, and thus needs to not answer with the journal she's currently signed in under.... It's pathetic; I have 3 browsers open; one for work, one for real LJ, one for

*Paige looks worried a second* Erm I think 2 or 3 wouold be considered a lot generally!

*she smiles again* Yeah like telekinisis, that's I can do, move things by calling them to me. I was sort of helping this classes would help me learn to comtrol my powers more. So far, not so much

"That's pretty cool, though. I don't have any powers. Except maybe the power of really rotten luck. And demons seem to like trying to eat me, but I can't decide if that's a special talent or not -- demons pretty much like to eat most people."

*Paige laughs slightly* Thanks I'll bear that in mind if I ever meet any!

Kiki whispers, "I'm glad I'm not the only one discovering this class isn't what I thought it would be..."

*Paige smiles at Kiki* Maybe we should try to turn the homeworks a little more positive in the future. I mean he can't force us to do mean stuff can he?

Kiki smiles back, relived to find someone else who's as nervous about how this class is going as she is.

"That's true. I tried to keep this one as harmless as possible - but now I've just realized that inventing a myth that suggests Professor Jareth is a reincarnated evil witch-lord (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kikidelivers/2791.html) might not be as harmless as I first thought. Especially not so harmless to me. I thought manipulation would be card tricks or juggling or slight-of-hand!"

Yeah I'm thinking that maybe isn't a myth! And yeah I thought manipulation would be object manipulation, not people manipulation, maybe we should give it a few more classes then drop out?

"Maybe... I hate to give up, though. Maybe just stick together through this class and see what we can come up with together? Right now, I really just want to pass! It could get better - I've heard some professors do stuff like this deliberately to weed out students at the beginning of the year."

*Paige smiles* Sounds like a plan! And I guess you're right it could be some sort of test
