"Good morning," V said smoothly. "As we have been studying, our current judicial systems are rather rigorous in most cultures. However, they are, in many ways, an improvement. There are, for instance, governments that employ secret police, or have employed them in the past. These organizations rely heavily on fear - and people should not fear their governments. Governments, rather, should be afraid of their people."

"And one reason why," he said, pacing slightly as he picked up some papers to pass out, "is because of what is commonly known as the mob mentality. Years ago, it was the way justice was carried out, and even to this day, public outcry can sway an entire nation. Sometimes not for the best."

He started to pass out a pair of handouts, as well as a small card on each desk. "Today we are going to study one of the less productive, yet nonetheless historical, means of exacting justice. Three of you are 'witches' - your cards have a 'W.' The rest, you have a blank card. Your jobs are to accuse one another until you locate what you believe to be a witch, and bring him or her before me, as I am the acting judge. If you have enough evidence and have located one of the actual 'witches,' you will be awarded with one of these." V held up a box of cookies.

"And witches," he added, scanning the room. "You must do your best to blend in and deflect attention away from yourselves."

[Okay, so basically, this is a game of he-said, she-said. You say, "So and so is a witch for this reason!" And people can hop on your bandwagon, or the accused can reply. When you've gone through a reasonable amount of that, ping in the "Trials" thread and V will listen to the reasoning and give out cookies if you have one of the three "witches."

There are three people who have OOCly been contacted and asked to be "witches":

bridge_carson. Naturally, your characters have no way of knowing this, so accuse whoever. And your logic for why they're a witch can be anything. I expect crack and silliness, not meanness, please. And work together, of course! I'll be around most of the day, with small patches of AFKness in the middle of the day.]

"Y'know," Dean said slowly, "with all the animal transformations that happen around here, it's probably someone who doesn't change when there's a good reason they should've that's the witch. Like, say, getting bit by a werepony?"

"True enough," Seely said. "However you will note that after the attck upon my person, I sought advice and help from an expert in this field. One Mr John Winchester."

"An attempt to cover your tracks," Dean replied immediately.

"Arguably, it could be seen that way," Seely replied in turn. "However if you wish to bring in Mr Winchester to give his expert opinion on wereponies and the liklihood of the curse being transmitted, by all means do so, I have nothing to hide."

"Certainly, bring him in," Peter said immediately. "We can also ask his opinion on if random transformations are proof of witchery."

"But was it really so random as you claim?"

"Obviously...otherwise I wouldn't claim it," Peter replied. "And again, if transformations are proof. Why aren't you accusing others who have?"

"As I pointed out before, none of the others used their transformations to attack someone else while escaping punishment."

Peter rolled his eyes. "Are you ever going to stop whining about that?"

"Pointing out a simpe fact is not whining."

"Oh, it certainly is when a month has gone by and you continue to talk about it every other day."

"I already know his opinion, considering he's the one who taught me everything I know about how to catch a witch," Dean pointed out. "Generally witches are the transformers, not the transformees." He grinned at Seely. "Which brings us back to you."

"Yes, because it makes sense to turn someone I never met before into a pony specifically for the purposes of getting bitten," Seely said, rolling his eyes. "Check my records, I come from a magicless dimension, and I was an altar boy until I was sixteen, I think in all that time spent in a church someone might have noticed if I was a witch."

"You'd be surprised. And we've only your word that there's no magic in your dimension. As for the biting," Dean grinned, "if you turned me into a werepony, I'd bite the hell out of you too."

Seely shrugged. "You can check with the school office, or in the library, all the information's there."

"Besides it's obvious to me that this entire exercise has been set up for the express purpose of deflecting attention from the real witch in this class room," Seely said, pausing for dramatic effect. "PROFESSOR V!"

"It's just V," he replied. "And Mr. Booth, I assure you I am not a witch, and perhaps one might focus on how you and Mr. Winchester are accusing everyone in sight, as that's a very obvious sign of denial."

"I'm just seeing who squeals the loudest when accused." Dean shrugged. "I know I'm not a witch and I'm secure enough in my non-witchiness to not flail if accused."

V nodded. "Interesting. But don't you think your strategy lacks in that people are now prepared to be accused by you?"

"Given the assignment, everyone should have been prepared to be accused by everyone else anyway," Dean pointed out. "If you don't engage, you don't have any reactions to judge."

V gave a soft, low chuckle. "Excellent work, Mr. Winchester. You're a born analyst."

Seely frowned. "I only accused you and English. That's hardly everyone in sight. Also, it has a lot basis than most of these flying around."
