Friday, September 21, Second Period

Instead of the usual lounge-like arrangement, today the classroom has been set up without any furniture at all. On the floor are numerous large and comfortable looking cushions. Hanging on one wall is an oversized palmistry diagram.

"Good morning, class. Before we begin our lab, I do want to remind you all that your project proposals for this lab section are due by the end of the day today. There is a drop box outside my office door for that purpose. Also, your group project proposals for the regular class are due today as well.

"Now, we're about to begin our first hands-on lab exercise, and so I thought it was fitting that today's lesson be truly, er, 'hands-on'. Find a seat next to your lab partner and make yourself comfortable. Today we will learn the art of chiromancy, or palm reading."

Aziraphale powers the wards on the classroom and then takes a seat on one of the cushions. "You may begin. Let me know if you need any assistance."

Lab Exercise
Using the following information on palmistry, do a reading for your partner.

Two Step by Step Guides to Palm Reading

[ooc: Obviously, you can't do an actual reading for the other person. However, if you'd like to RP the lab, one possible solution would be to have your partner answer the questions found on the Step by Step sight, and then create your own interpretation based on that information. Or, make something up. It doesn't have to be accurate, especially for those characters with no actual divination talent.

Note: If your partner doesn't show up or tag in to RP and you'd like to play out the reading, ping me in the OOC and we'll switch people around or you can practice on Aziraphale.]

"Are you sure?" Blair poked at Bel's hand. "Your fruits and veggie line is like, not even there."

Bel's eyes narrowed. "And your carnivore line is non-existant."

"I only eat meat with this hand." Blair held up his cast. "That's why you can't see the line."

Blair waved his good hand in front of Bel's face. "But my smartass line is long, man."

Bel looked his own palm over again. "So is my sex life line."

Blair leaned over and looked at Bel's palm. "According to my research that line indicates more of an internal expression of love."

"Self love?" Bel asked. "Masturbation?"

"...ew." Blair blinked and swatted at Bel. "Man, I didn't mean that in a gross way I just meant that you love yourse-"

"Okay, maybe it was dirty."

Bel faked gaping. "Blair, you're such a pervert."

"I learned from the best" Blair rolled his eyes. "I'm totally your pervert."

"Then my work here is complete," Bel said solemnly.

"That's going to look great on my college applications. Blair Sandburg, excells at anthropology, protesting, being a pervert."

"Some schools look for that," Bel snickered.

"Not the ones I'm planning on attending." Blair said with a glare.

Bel snickered some more. "Their loss then."

"Man, I was going to be all nice to you this weekend. Now I'm not so sure." Blair shook his head.

"Nice to me? Why?" Bel said.

"Because Phoebe's going home for the weekend. I figured you'd need someone to make sure you eat healthy foods and don't spend all your time brooding."

Bel scowled. "I've been trying to be less emo, and until now it was being successful," he said.

"I'm proud of you, man!" Blair bounced. "Before now, how many non-emo days did you have under your belt?"

"A couple weeks?" Bel said. "I wasn't keeping track." He frowned. "But people are making my plants emo on the roof."

"What the heck?" Blair frowned. "Why are they doing that?"

"Because they go up and debate throwing themselves off or something," Bel said, shrugging. "It makes the leaves wilt."

"We've got to do something about that, man. Put up cones or anti-emo signs." Blair bounced.

"I already did that," Bel said. "Put up signs around the garden."

"Were they polite signs?"
