Cyborg Theory, class #2
As students walk into class, three of my brethren replicators hold up a holograph of the RepliCarter Dr. Carter smiling calmly.
There are instructions with the words, “when the class is assembled, please press the red button.” Upon pressing the red button, the holograph Dr. Carter speaks –
“Class, I apologize for my absence on this our second class of the semester. Unfortunately, a rather pesky hoard of aliens attacked one of my conquered galaxies and I must smite them as quickly as possible.
I would like the human (and mini!) form of myself to take attendance and for Mr. Gaeta to work our A/V equipment in the room as I’d like you to watch “The Matrix” this evening. If you have not already seen this film, you’re in for a treat.
As the lights will be off during the next three hours, please do not endeavor to replicate yourselves by making morepesky humans in the dark. However, discussion and a bit of MST3K snark is definitely allowed and encouraged.
Your homework is as follows:
(1) Pick one short answer question about the film and answer it as best you can:
a) Why is it so important to have only male Agents? Why can’t there be female Agents?
b) What is the significance of the Oracle as a chain-smoking, cookie-baking African American grandmother?
c) Are Choi and DuJuour resistance fighters or just random human pawns?
d) Is the Matrix as system inherently evil?
e)Tell me how awesome Trinity is and you get SO MANY bonus points.
(2) Have you had any encounters with artificial intelligence yourself? Please give me a detailed account.
I will be accepting your homework on Wednesday via a post on

He can ask another girl out. At least show that he's going to be a man about it. And the next time one of these things comes up, he'll have to remember to get in first.

*wonders what the policy is for taking a teacher to the dance. Figures Padmé'd probably laugh at him for asking*
It's hard to do, though. You girls can be scary. Traveling in packs, talking in some strange code.
