Lorelai smiled at the students once they'd all entered and taken their seats.

"Morning everyone! Today we're going to learn about dating. It's an important part of the modern high school experience for a lot of students and with Homecoming coming up in a few weeks, I want to give you all the information you'll need to have a wonderful time."

She launched into a short lecture on old-fashioned courtship rituals and how they evolved into modern dating. She also gave out a packet of handouts on Homecoming, Prom, Dating, and Safe Sex.

"Now, I'm going to pair you up and I want you to try asking each other out on dates. In this day and age, it's perfectly acceptable for a girl to ask someone out, so I want both of you to take a turn doing the asking. Marty, Jaye and I will be around to answer any questions you might have."

Kaylee nodded. "You sure did. Like I said, the promise of sweets or chocolate helps."

"Wonderful." He smiled and said, "If you'd like, you can go now."

"I do," he said. "I haven't heard much from this part of the world but I enjoy what I have heard."

"I enjoy what I've heard too, but I'd like to learn more," Kaylee said. "I work at Empire Records, so I can pretty much sample any music I want. Maybe we can get together and listen to CDs or something?"
