Intro to 21st Century American Culture - Monday - Fifth Period

Lorelai smiled at the students once they'd all entered and taken their seats.

"Morning everyone! Today we're going to learn about dating. It's an important part of the modern high school experience for a lot of students and with Homecoming coming up in a few weeks, I want to give you all the information you'll need to have a wonderful time."

She launched into a short lecture on old-fashioned courtship rituals and how they evolved into modern dating. She also gave out a packet of handouts on Homecoming, Prom, Dating, and Safe Sex.

"Now, I'm going to pair you up and I want you to try asking each other out on dates. In this day and age, it's perfectly acceptable for a girl to ask someone out, so I want both of you to take a turn doing the asking. Marty, Jaye and I will be around to answer any questions you might have."

[ooc: wait for OCD up!]

Evie looked rather shocked at the gesture, then relieved at his explanation, if also disappointed that she wasn't going to be asked out. "Oh, I see. Um. Should I-I be asking you out, then?"

"Well, I guess if it's completely for fake," Joxer said. "I guess I can ask you out. Hold on a second, let me think about this." He paused.

"Did anyone ever tell you that you look like Aphrodite?"

[ooc: Ugh. Work is harsh. SP liek whoa, sorry.]

Evie gave him a Look. "Oh, really. Surely that's the oldest line any girl has ever been expected to swallow. You can do something more original, you know."

[no worries!]
