As the class trailed in, the screen was the sort of black that indicated it was on, but receiving no image. Logan was still involved in conversation, the voices somewhat muted but definitely coming in through the speakers.

"--Are you sure?" The woman, whoever she was, sounded concerned.

"I'm positive. It'll be fine." Logan looked from the blank screens to the students and motioned for them to take a handout and a seat before turning back. "I promise, even. It'll go great."

	"C'mon, mom," broke in another - male - voice, clearly amused. "You heard the professor. Let him have his moment."
	An irritated, long-suffering sigh. "A'ight," she relented. "Should be up in a couple minutes. Dix is working on it."

"Thanks," Logan replied, and then turned back to the class proper, smiling. "Hi guys. Today, we've got something kind of special. The handouts you got, obviously, are about color. Color is another way you can convey information - often a feeling or an emotion - in advertisements, the way you dress, and some people even believe you can heal with color."

He motioned to their desks, where at each sat a small easel, a set of paints, and several brushes. "Today you're going to get a demonstration of someone who primarily uses color in their work, the symbolism and emotion they can bring out using it. Then you're going to try your hand at it, using either your gut feelings, or what you find in the handout."

"Logan? Signal's up."

"Thanks." Logan smiled at the class. "Just keep in mind, our guest has been kind of on his own for a long time, but he's a good guy. Treat him with respect," he said, with the insinuation that anything else would result in a swift detention. "Feel free to ask him questions, but have fun with the assignment, as always."

The screen turned on then, and a large, almost canine face loomed, taking it up almost entirely. "Logan? Logan, it's Joshua for painting with kids?" He blinked at the class. "Ooh. Big kids." When Logan nodded for him to go on, Joshua pulled back from the screen a little, somewhat wide-eyed. "Big kids learning how to paint, Joshua-style? Not hard - you gotta use color, lots of it. Right?"

He shuffled back from the screen, ducking his head as if not used to being on the spot, and pulled into view a couple large canvases.

"Paint from your heart, yeah? Lots of color, and, and..." He paused, looking at the class over the top of one painting. "Big paint strokes! And colors say what you mean. Like... anger. Confusion." He pointed to the dark painting. "Red and black, see?" Joshua looked over the class, grinning. "You try. Do a- a painting of a friend. Or something you like, how it makes you feel. And show me what you got, when you finished, okay?"

Logan stood up from where he'd sat on his desk, nodding to the class. "Go ahead and paint. Joshua will be available to show them to when you're done.

The online program lets you link your picture using the "Save and send" option, then just link it to a comment under Joshua's thread and he'll respond when I get up. Slowplay as needed, for those of you with problem schedules. :)]

"I'm not repressed!" Sam said, nearly shaking his paintbrush at Dean. "And I don't need you to make a guy flirt with me to prove it!"

"You know that would be exactly what you'd say if you were repressed."

"What do you want me to say? 'Yeah, let me flirt with Jack, that'll be fun!'"

"You don't think it would be?" Dean asked innocently.

Sam rolled his eyes at Dean. "I'm positive that it wouldn't be."

"You know what they say, Sammy. Don't knock it till you tried it."

"I already have tried it, by kissing Anakin," Sam replied, looking smug.

"Which would work as an argument if you didn't just admit you liked it," Dean pointed out smugly.

Sam opened his mouth, and then shut it again, and turned to face his canvas. "I hate you sometimes, I swear," he grumbled.

Dean chuckled. "Yeah, but you'd miss me if I wasn't here." It had always been his comeback to Sammy professing hate for him and if it had extra resonance now, it just made it more true.

"At least I wouldn't have to defend myself against insane accusations," Sam pointed out. Not that he wouldn't miss Dean, of course, but he figured Dean was smart enough to know that.

Dean smirked at him. "Funny how you only hate me then when you can't defend yourself. Makes the accusations seem less insane, don't you think?"

"I can't defend myself because the accusations are so crazy," he said. "And I hate you because you get so much enjoyment out of driving me crazy."

"Hey, it's one of the perks of being the older brother. And you do this sorta twitching thing when you get really worked up. It's kinda endearing in a spastic sorta way."

Sam narrowed his eyes as he glared at Dean. "You'd better be careful, or I might twitch and get paint all over you," he warned.

Dean snorted. "Maybe you should aim for your canvas if you do that. Might create a new art movement."

"I'd aim for your canvas, but I might accidentally add some color to your car," he said, smirking, before turning back to his own canvas and starting to paint again.

"Better the painting than the actual car," Dean replied. "Because dude, if you get paint on the car..."

"Ooh, hey. If Dad does give you the car, I wonder if he'll give me a set of keys for it once I learn how to drive. I bet I wouldn't damage it or anything," he said, grinning slyly.

"If Dad gives me the car, I'm the one you're going to come to for a set of keys," Dean pointed out.

"And you'll totally give me those keys when I want them, right?"

Dean sighed. "Yeah, probably," he admitted grudgingly. "But if you dent the car, I dent your hide."

Sam grinned with more than a little satisfaction. "I won't dent your precious car, I promise. I'd like to see you try and dent me though. That might be funny."

"Oh, now he's getting all cocky," Dean teased.

"Am not," Sam protested, grinning nonetheless.
