Gun range- Wednesday afternoon

Two weeks without Gun Club because of Gentlemen and bad cookies, and there are some addictions you can't fight any longer. Parker opened the Gun Range, and made sure the rules were posted, then got her guns and started to practice, wondering where Jack was. Hmmm.

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

After talking to Alfred, Nadia went to see if there was anyonething to beat up in the salle.

The gun range was open.

Even better.

Her aim had improved drastically since she'd been gone. Though people might wonder at the fact that she seemed to be aiming rather . . . low.

Parker observed Nadia's shooting for a while, then waved to her during a break. "Hey, Nadia. Nice shooting. Well, better than 'nice.'" She took a breath. "How have you been?"

And she's definitely not bringing up any encounters in the gym.

"I've had better months. And thanks, I've been practicing."

"Months?" Parker blinked, and took off her eye protection to get a better look at Nadia, realization dawning. "Your hair's different. I took that photo right before you left, and I *thought* you'd changed it. And you look-- older?" She paused. "Tell me if I'm way off base here, and I'll let it drop."

So. Despite training to be a spy for a year, Nadia still apparently sucked at keeping a secret.

"You're not way off base." She wondered if it would be rude to just start shooting again.

"Right." Parker shook her head and sighed. "God, I hate time travel in all its forms. However long you were gone, I'm glad you're back. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with, getting back into the swing here."

Nadia relaxed slightly. Trust Parker not to push it.

"A year. A little more, actually. But I'd appreciate it if that didn't get out."

"No problema. As people might tell you," Parker cocked her head, "I can keep a secret. Did you at least enjoy most of it? I hope you're glad to be back, even if you were loving Argentina."

Enjoyed? Hmm.

"Most of it was fun. The training and everything. The end was . . . not as fun. So I'm glad to be back. Mostly. Sort of."

"Ahhh." Yeah, Parker's been to enough boarding schools that she doesn't need details, even if an Argentine spy school has to be more dangerous. "I'm glad you got the benefit of that, although I'm sorry it didn't work out like you wanted." She quirked a smile. "I'll buy you a welcome-back drink at Caritas, any time you're up to it."

"I'd appreciate that." Nadia offered Parker a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes and reloaded to start firing again.

She was totally obliterating the space between the target's legs.

Parker was definitely not going to ask. That's the kind of question that goes with tequila. Or possibly, ice cream and vodka. Definitely not while someone's holding a 9mm.

"Hasta, Nadia. Catch you later."

Nadia waved absently, then took out the target's knee caps and elbows before finally putting it out of its misery with a clean shot to the head.
