First Aid II, Tuesday Morning, Danger Shop

Elliot looks more comfortable teaching this time. She might also be trying to prove something to someone. Maybe.

"Hey people, welcome to First Aid II. It looks like a lot of you took my first class last term -- for which, thank you for working with me again and if you're thinking about med school, I'd love to talk to you -- so we're just going to do some quick introductions and then jump into simulated first aid situations.

My name is Elliot Reid, I'm a doctor. Normal human, from now, all of that. Boring, for this place.

One last thing, if you ever have any problems with anything you need to do in this class -- whether it's CPR practice or a rampaging CGI badger -- let me know. I, um, don't have a syllabus yet, but I'll email it to you within the week. And let's begin."

Collapsingy!

"Just your name, why you're in this class, and if there's anything interesting about you, from a first-aid point of view. I swear I won't take tissue samples or anything."

Talk to each other, or to Elliot.

This corner of the Shop resembles a day care classroom. One tot is choking on a bit of hot dog, another has just fallen off a table and opened a nasty gash on her head (and won't quit crying), and a third is reaching for the coffeepot in the kitchen. And of course there are tons of lovely little blocks, the perfect size to fit into a nostril.

Mod away, and if you end up vowing to never have children, Elliot won't blame you.

This group is hiking down a trail in a wooded setting when they hear someone shout, "AH! FALLING! HELP!"

When they find the site of the scream, they'll discover an unconscious overweight 40-year-old man who seems to have fallen from a tree where he was birdwatching. His leg looks funny, and he has other abrasions from breaking through branches during his rapid descent.

Eliot almost, but not quite, managed to avoid programming in badgers. Sadly, this means Group C is assigned to treat injuries resulting from a car crash in which the driver is human, but all four passengers were badgers, strapped into car seats. All five suffered acuts in the crash, and one badger might have a broken front paw.

At least they don't bite. Much.

"Hi, I'm Lana. Nothing interesting about me from first-aid point of view except that I seemed to end up in the hospital a lot back home. I'm here because I figure if I can't help out with a lot of the more active physical danger stuff that goes on, maybe at least I can help patch people up afterwards."

"Thanks for joining us, Lana. And yeah, stay out of the hospital. The Jello just isn't that good."

Lana carefully checks to see if the man is breathing and has a pulse.

"Gosh, golly, gee. My name is Perry and I think First aid is just SUPER!" Cox said with fake enthusiasm.

Dr. Cox takes up a position in the back of the room and watches Barbie like a hawk.

Elliot visibly wibbles for a moment. "Nice to see you again," she says, then turns to the other students. "Class, this is Dr. Cox. We used to work together."

She avoided snarking. It wasn't becoming in a teacher, plus she would lose.

I'm Peter Pevensie. I'm taking this class because I learned a great deal in the first half of the workshop ~~and like the badgers~~. I'm a normal human.

"Don't listen to her class. Barbie and I used to be the best of girlfriends and spent every Friday night doing each other's hair and talking about boys and her trust fund all night long," Cox continued with the fake enthusiasm. "You know, when I wasn't training her to not kill people."

Peter nodded to Lana as he joined her. "We probably shouldn't move him in case of a spinal injury, hmm? But maybe we could splint the leg." He frowned at it. "That just doesn't look natural."

Elliot glared. "Yeah, okay, he was my boss," she said. "Can you believe I gave this up to come to Fandom?"

"And you forgot the pedicures, Perry."

"Hey, Pevensie. Thanks for coming back."

"Yeah, no moving at this point. I'd feel better if he weren't unconscious, but at least he's breathing, right?" She bit her lip, hesitating. "Do you think we can splint his leg without moving his back?"

Peter nodded. "I was sorry to miss your class last week, Dr. Reid."

"Still not on a first name basis with me Barbie," Cox said with a fake grin. "Now let's just see how well you train these kids and I'll just jump in when you're about to kill someone, 'kay?"
