Veronica has a very large cup of coffee with her, but she looks ragged. It's obvious she hasn't slept much in the last few nights.

"Okay, gang. This is our last regular workshop. Next week, you'll have time to develop your photos from this week, but then I want you to pick your best photos from class and display them for your fellow students. Today we're going to learn about night photography," she said, giving them a handout.

She was about to start her lecture when Aaron appeared, sneering, of course. They let you teach? he laughed. What are you doing? Trying to get all these kids to be busybodies like you?

Veronica closed her eyes and took a few deep, slow breaths. "No lecture today. Go develop your photos. Let me know if you have questions. And tonight, you're all welcome to attend Professor Arroway's Astronomy workshop if you'd like to practice your night photography skills. Your prompts for next week are Star, Shadow, and Sad."

She put her head down on the desk.

Star, Shadow, and Sad

She's exhausted and miserable, but she'll talk.

I'm drowning in paperwork at work, so responses may be slow.

Zack signed in.

Nadia signed in.

Nadia could see that Veronica was pretty well dead on her feet, so she didn't plan on taking up much of her time. She just wanted to check on her.

"Hey, you doing okay?"

Bel signed in.

Zack started developing his photos for metal (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/00015fcz/), technology (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/00014k81/), and fear (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0001358y/).

Bel, tired as Veronica, worked without any enthusiasm to develop his pictures of Metal, Fear, and Technology.

"Just tired," Veronica said. "The nightmares are back."

Jaye signs in.

Nadia nodded. That made sense. "I'd offer you a sleeping pill, but then you'd be a boy for a day."

Veronica chuckled. "I think I'll pass, thanks. The sleeping pills just make it harder to wake up from the nightmares anyway."

Nadia shrugged. "They helped me sleep without nightmares when I had to take them . . . but waking up as a boy suddenly? Was not one of the listed side effects." She paused before continuing to the darkroom. "I'm going to go to the library this afternoon to research. As far as I could tell from the radio last night, we have at least six, maybe seven more people who've been having problems."

"Last summer, after... everything... I had really bad nightmares and my doctor prescribed sleeping pills," Veronica said, shaking her head. "They just made things worse for me."

She sighed. "I listened to Archie's broadcast last night; there do seem to be a number of us with problems. Hopefully we'll figure something out."

"We will. This is Fandom. It's kind of what we do."

Nadia set out developing her pictures for metal, technology, and fear.

She was a bit distracted though, still thinking about the ghost problem.

"I guess this doesn't quite compare to zombies or snow monsters," Veronica agreed.

"Well, hopefully it's less likely to get people physically injured. Even if it might be harder psychologically."

"The ghosts can't hurt us physically," Veronica said. "So we can get through this."

Buffy signed in

Buffy set forth to make a big shiny poster (or two) of Alec and Dean kissing. She was making many li'l samples to make sure she got it just right.

Anakin wandered by the photography workshop just after class let out and headed straight towards Veronica.

He took one look at her and frowned. "It's not gotten any better?" he asked.
