"Good morning," Jon began a little blearily. "Today I thought we -"

He was interrupted by loud chittering.

"No, Leroy, this is not a class about you. Although honestly I'm astonished it took you this long to attempt a takeover."

Leroy hopped up on the desk and waved a tiny glass at him.

"Yes, I expect that would take precedence. However -"

Leroy began drunkenly singing off-key.

Jon rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Apparently today we are covering music. Loosely defined. Once he's done, please share your own. You don't have to sing it yourself; that's what phones are for."

"Right," Jon sighed in a break from the squirrel singing. "So this is an opportunity to share your music. Especially if it's something that helps you focus. I personally prefer instrumental things for that, since I'm not trying to follow the lyrics. Classical is fine, soundtracks are also good. I'm rather fond of...of 'Princess Mononoke' myself."

"Uhh, you maybe heard of it as chillhop?" Arden suggested. "Or nu jazz?" She reached for her phone and pulled up one of her (many, many) playlists. "You might really like it? Mostly instrumental, designed to be chill so you can just put it on and listen while you focus on other things."

She hit play on a song. "This is 5:32pm, by The Deli."

Jon had not heard of it by either of those terms, no.

He listened politely. And tried not to fall asleep or fidget too much. "It's...it isn't bad," he said. "I tend to prefer something that..." he gestured vaguely. "That occupies my brain a bit more, I think." He fiddled with his own phone for a bit.
