Raiden, who totally had a black mane and tail and a backwards baseball cap on his head, despite his icon's tragic lack of same, had asked the students to meet him at Portalocity back when he'd assumed they were going to be, y'know, people-shaped this week. This morning he'd asked one of the gnomes to tape a sign to the door redirecting them to the park instead. Hopefully they wouldn't run into any trouble with the dinosaurs.

"Hey, every~~pony~~body!" he greeted them once what he thought was his class was assembled. Had some random pony joined them? He had no way to tell. "I'm Raiden, and you signed up for Food Adventures! And we were supposed to start those adventures today, but, uh, I'm a pony." And probably some of them were, too. "And I couldn't reschedule our portal to anywhere with pony people, plus I don't know anything about their food." He would like to learn, though! "So instead we're going to introduce ourselves, and then explore our very own island! First I want you to tell me who you are, and a kind of food you'd like to try--either one you haven't already or one you want to know more about, both are good--and then your assignment for the week is to try something from one of the island's restaurants that you haven't before! If you don't have any money on you," because you were a pony, "just tell them to put it on Raiden's account. Okay? Great, let's get going!"

I don't know if this pony generator had a mane and tail option I just couldn't get to, or what, it was kind of wonky, but it did have a pizza-shaped cutie mark so I stuck with it.

Henry of Skalitz

"What," Henry introduced, intelligently.

An eloquent response, to be sure. "You're supposed to introduce yourself," Raiden said helpfully. "I can't tell who you are when you're ponies."

"It's Henry?" Henry said. "At least, I think I'm still Henry?"

The island just really held a grudge against his grip on reality.

"Henry, hey!" Raiden greeted him. "I'm Raiden, in case you couldn't tell." He'd said that already, but Henry seemed to be confused, so repeating it couldn't hurt, he figured. "What would you like to eat in this class?" Don't say grass.

Sorry. Henry had to stare for a bit as he attempted - desperately - to process the parts of the conversation that made sense.

"Sausages?"

"We can do sausages!" Raiden agreed, then danced in place as a thought occurred to him. "Oooh! What about Oktoberfest?" His memory was notoriously terrible, but hopefully he would remember to look up dates when he had, you know, hands again.

Erasmus Boone

Erasmus had somehow made it to the park unmolested, which was great because he couldn't carry any of his charms around when he didn't have pockets, and he didn't know how he'd activate them with his hooves anyway.

"I'm Erasmus Boone," he said. "I haven't really traveled much, except for visiting my Pops in California, so...just about anything, really. We don't have that many restaurants in my town in Mississippi." He thought about it, then decided, "Crepes. I would like to try crepes."

Billie Logan

Billie was not a pony. ~~The mun was busy and couldn’t get a pony creator to work on her phone or work computer.~~ she looked around at all the ponies and, well. Couldn’t help a twinge of jealousy.

“I wanna be a pony.”

“Two questions,” Billie said. “How come you guys are ponies; and why was I skipped? That seems most arbitrary.”

"... What's Oktoberfest?"

Well, Henry, it was something that happened on the same continent you were from, for a change, at least...

"There's always next time!" Raiden said in hopes of cheering her up.

"It's a big festival they have every fall in Munich, Germany to celebrate beer!" He knew beer, right? How about Germany? "There's lots of yummy food, too, like sausages and pretzels."

"Sometimes the island just does stuff, and sometimes it just skips people," Raiden told her, wishing he could shrug like this. "You're right, it is pretty arbitrary. Or random might be a better word? I dunno."

Billie frowned harder (it was a very unfamiliar expression for her!) and scuffed her foot into the grass.

“Bogus.”

"Oh! Bavaria! I know that one," Henry said, unreasonably proud of himself in that moment. They were only part of the same Empire and everything. "I have heard they make good smoked sausages. I think the Deutsch might have been from around those parts..."
