Lydia was rather more practiced in landscapes than portraiture, but she had really taken her time and put effort into her drawing for this week. Her subject deserved no less.

"This is my eldest sister, Jane," Lydia told the teachers as she presented the portrait. "Everyone agrees she's the beauty of the family."
