Cupcake Wars (Yes, Again), Friday 1/24, 3rd period
“Today,” Stark said once everyone who was going to arrive had made their way into the Home Ec room, “more cupcakes. Of course.”
Do try and contain your shock, students, that the class with cupcakes in the name was going to feature cupcakes weekly.
“I thought, for today’s theme, we could do winter cupcakes. Not cold, unless you feel a need to make ice cream cupcakes which is fine if you do.” Single serving sized ice cream cakes sounded fantastic, actually. “I wonder if the ice cream shop makes those? I should find out. But that’s for later. For now, we’ll make cupcakes. Winter themed.”
What did that entail, exactly? Well, baker’s choice!
“I have some winter flavors, like peppermint and cocoa. And things in blue and white and silver. Snowflakes. Coconut because it looks a bit like snow. Marshmallows for the same reason. I have a lot of sprinkles.” There were always so many sprinkles for this class. Snowflakes, tiny snowmen, ice skates, something Stark didn’t recognize as a hockey sticks and pucks…
“I’ll be making hot cocoa flavored cake with marshmallow frosting.” And so many sprinkles. So many. “Shall we begin?”
