Morality of Action, Wednesday Afternoon

Not for the first time, class would find themselves entering the Danger Shop, only to find... no teacher, and a less than ambiguous setup.

Specifically, they would find themselves on a long lawn, with a large pile of water balloons centered in the table. Up in the sky sat a scoreboard, with the names of every student.

Well.

That seemed simple enough.

If you'd rather poke around first before you pick up any water balloons. Though if you do poke at the water balloons, it may become obvious that they are filled with something colorful.

It's just a large green space with a blue sky.

Or rather, paintball fights, as anyone who uses one will quickly discover. Whatever color you get on you will dissipate after you leave the class. But they are bright.

Also, every time you hit someone, the number beside your score goes up. Hm.

Near the end of class, she seems to materialize in a small chair by the door.

Perhaps if you ask her, answers will be forthcoming? ahahahaha

And you know what? It was pretty clear to Graham from the set-up what was going on here, but what Graham was really curious about was....what if he hit himself with one of the waterballoons first? Then what would the score board do?

So this was Graham, removing his cap to prevent it from getting too wet, and tossing up a balloon over his head and weaving underneath it so that when it came back down it landed right on him, and...

"Oh."

That wasn't water at all.

"Ohhhhh," he said, rubbing the paint between his fingers after wiping the trail that had traveled down his forehead and look at them, because this changed things a bit, didn't it?

But, more importantly, his eyes darted eagerly to the scoreboard to see if that still counted as a point.

Before apparently deciding that yes, that did, in fact, count as a point.

And Graham had been making himself an incredibly easy target watching that scoreboard with bated breath and a swell of barely contained suspense and excitement.

Until it finally ticked up and he raised his hands over his paint-covered head with a triumphant "Whoo hoo! I did it!"

Yes, he did it to himself, but that wasn't the point!

The point was....on the board!

"Oh look, the license to be cruel if we choose, for no concrete reason except to 'win,'" she said dryly. "This is clearly not a set-up."
