"All right, everyone," Raiden said to his assembled students, "today we are going to beautiful Marrakesh, Morocco, where it is going to be hot, topping 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so I hope you got my message and dressed appropriately, both for the weather and for local customs--no uncovered shoulders or knees, please. While Marrakesh is used to tourists and you wouldn't get in trouble for wearing shorts, we're being respectful. The medina, or old town, of Marrakesh is a UNESCO World Heritage site, meaning it's been internationally recognized as significant and worthy of preservation, and that's where we're headed today. It's a great area full of markets and street vendors and, of course, delicious food. We'll have some time to explore and sample the local street food, maybe do some shopping if you're into that kind of thing, and then we'll stop in at a restaurant and have a delicious tajine for lunch? Sound like a plan? Great! Let's go!"

Just before they went through the portal Raiden added, "Oh, and if there's anything particular you want me to tell anyone who might be visiting this weekend, you should probably let me know now." He'd lie for you if necessary, but he needed to know what lies were being told, guys.

Seriously, if he's supposed to nod and smile when your parents talk about how you're strictly gluten-free, he needs to know now.

Have some street food and explore Moroccan cuisine, followed by a delicious tajine of chicken, lamb, or a vegetarian option.

About the food or those lies he'll be telling your parents.

Charlie was dressed in jeans and a band t-shirt and she was ready to try everything!

Graham was dressed how he was always dressed, which meant shoulders and knees were definitely covered....and so was prettt much everything else! Was he hot underneath that cloak and cap and those boots? Did it matter, when there was all this food to try??

Arden Finch

"Uh, I don't know if Duke and Grimm are coming to visit this weekend, but I don't know that they're not, either," Arden said as they walked down the streets of Marrakesh. Her closet had unearthed a long, airy black dress (with pockets!) this morning, but it was unfortunately sleeveless. The internet had saved her, showing her how to turn her gifted dupatta into an modest covering, like a colorful jacket (and with an extra pin in the back, to make sure it stayed closed.)

Arden, wearing a long black dress and little jacket made from cunningly folding and pinning the dupatta Mrs. Khan had sent her, was only too happy to wander the streets of Marrakesh, trying pretty much anything that didn't have poultry in it.

The spleen was not her preference, but the snails were actually really good!

And the lamb tanjin...way too delicious.

"Okay," Raiden said with a nod. "What do you want me to do about that? Because all I know about you is that you're Gray's friend and you have a poultry allergy." Duh. "If you're worried about Bells, he is coming, last I heard, but he doesn't do repeats." Because Lust could be addictive and then things got awkward, but he didn't think Arden needed that explained.

Also because Alastair had told him to stay away from Grimm for Arden's peace of mind and he'd nodded and said, 'Got it,' and that had been the end of that.

She gave him a grateful smile. "I don't think they'd like knowing I went to a club, either, so if we could skip the whole trip to your family's place, that would be great," she said. "They don't really need to know who my friends are."

Or that she was making any. Otherwise they might start wondering what Arden was saying to these friends of hers.

"Has your car arrived yet?" Raiden asked, worried about how she would explain it, and then realized, "Duh, they don't have to know it's yours." Unless Castor had swapped the plates for custom ones that said 'FINCH' or something, which honestly was not outside of the realm of possibility.

He liked these people less all the time. They should be glad to know that Arden had friends.

"I don't think so?" Arden said. "I haven't gotten a notification or anything..."

And nobody had mentioned seeing the Batmobile in the parking lot.

"It probably takes away, getting someone to drive across the country or whatever."

Sure, honey. That was how luxury cars were transported. By driving them.

"Yeah, I don't know how it works," Raiden admitted. "That's Castor's problem. He buys our stuff. I feed everyone. We all have our part to play. I'm sure it'll show up soon." Especially since he was going to fire off a text to Castor in a little bit asking if he needed to yell at someone or something.

Castor, not Raiden. If Raiden started yelling at people something was apocalyptically wrong, not, 'Hey, where's a car?' wrong.

Raiden yelling would terrify Arden - not of him, but of whatever was happening that made him need to yell. She wasn't sure if that were better or worse than what she was pretty sure would happen if you upset him: having him look at you with hurt and disappointment as he asked you about your choices.

Either way, no thank you.

"Is he not coming this weekend?" she asked. That was kinda sad. She'd liked him.

Nailed him.

"Uh, well, he was gonna," Raiden said, "but then Daman said he wanted to come, because it wasn't fair that practically everyone else had been already, so now Al's coming after all to, uh...supervise--" Yeah. Let's go with supervise, "--him and Bells, so Cas and Galen are staying back to, you know, man the fort in case of demon activity." And Galen was probably mad about it, but Galen would be mad about any possible outcome, so...yeah.

Envy had kicked up and Alastair was coming to try to minimize the potential damage and/or fallout from having Daman and Bellamy on the island - possibly Daman and Bellamy on the island together specifically - while Galen raged about not going, probably felt guilty about his temper being a major reason why he wasn't going, and then also raged about that.

See? She was learning!

"Oh, Daman is?" Arden asked, a little faintly. Not because Daman had been particularly mean to her or anything, but because he was so pretty. Probably the prettiest of all the brothers (sorry Bellamy, though you did make Arden blush just by talking, so...). "That'll be interesting. I'll make sure to swing by and say hi."

Belle

Food adventures were becoming some of Belle's favorite sort.

She was quite taken with the variety of pickled things.

"I'm sure he'll be glad to see you!" Okay, 'glad' was probably a strong word, but Raiden was an eternal optimist. 'Relieved not to have, Arden didn't even say hi, bet Arden said hi to other people, to obsess over' was definitely in the cards, though.
