Janet shows up in the doorway of Daniel's office, a mug of coffee in each hand. "Hey," she says softly.

*Daniel looks up from the paper he's editing, which actually happens to be his own work, and not a student's. He sees Janet standing there and smiles.* Hey, come in.

I'm not Jack O'Neill, remember? I don't find science boring. *she shakes her head and tries not to feel awkward* What have I been up to lately? Trying to cope, I guess. Also getting locked in the bathroom with a giant squid, having to pull a crazy psychic teenager off of a friend, and, well-- It's kind of a madhouse around here, you know?

Oh trust me, I know. Between grading papers and fighting off what I thought were Goa'uld...and then they turned out to actually just be students. That was rather embarrassing, actually...

SGC's funding was finally cut too much and they had to "relieve me of my duties." So I came here to teach, because it was the only place that would actually hire me despite me unusual theories on Egyptian pyramids *smirks*

It is me, Daniel. I just-- *pauses* I don't know how, and I don't know why, and that's hard for me. I'm used to understanding something, or looking until I find the answers, and they can't be found. *notices his glance at her and shifts in her chair* *decides that teenage hormones are hell* Oh, I don't know, you look pretty damn hot yourself.

Well, we had...and have again...a similar problem with Jack. It was him the way we all remembered him, but he looked to be about 17. Perhaps this is the same thing? *He places a hand on hers in a comforting gesture*

I guess it's just a different view from this end of the age spectrum. *tries to control a faint shiver of pleasure at the touch, but fails miserably* I could see how he deals with it, I guess. From some of the things he's said, he didn't do so well at first, though. I don't want to bring up any unpleasant memories. *decides that she really needs to lace her fingers through Daniel's*
