Paintball: More Paint, More Balls - Monday, 1st Period

It was just one teacher for this new session of paintball. Well, one teacher that was human, at least. A very excited golden retriever was there alongside Tony. And no guns, oddly enough.

"We'll be starting a little unconventionally," Tony said once the class had all assembled. "It'll be more of a survival test for everyone save for Steve. Who will be the test."

Was that a paintball turret on the back of that supersoldier turned K9? Why yes, yes it was.

"So, get to hiding. Or running. You pick the method."

Thor was eyeing that golden retriever with a healthy amount of wariness. "Does the supersoldier serum carry over into canine form?" Why was he even bothering to ask? He already knew the answer.

The majority of the entire reason Summer had even bothered to show up today was to shoot things, because that was an almost guaranteed way to make herself feel better, only to show up and find out that they were just supposed to be shot at instead.

Which was categorically way less fun!

Now she was kind of pouting and looking around to see who might be good to shove into her way as a human shield instead, although her eyes were noticeably avoiding drifting to at least one of her classmates right now.

Stark's distraction did not end well for him. He was hit with paint almost immediately.

That was almost a relief. Almost.

At one point Stark lifted his hand as if he were going to wave in her direction but dropped it almost as quickly. This wasn't the time.

Oh wow. This grass was just like. So fascinating right now. Just like. So much. She was also not making any eye contact with anyone.

Summer was propelled by a force that had served many of her bloodline very well: dodging and jumping and running from those paintballs as if they were the consequences of her (potential future self's) own actions.

Dean had not signed up for this class. In fact there was a good chance he had been prodded here by a moose.

And right now he was just looking at the dog with a turret and wondering if he should just leave and go back to Aruba.

So Dean had a few things going for him in this fight.

1. For a time he was under a spell that allowed him to talk to dogs. And adapt dog like traits.
2. He had a bunch of beef jerky that he used to toss at the fellow participants so the dog would go after them instead of himself.

So when Cara went down, Dean was more than happy to take a victory lap around the course.

You know those days when nothing was going right and everything was terrible? Yeah, Arden was having one of those. So it wasn't even a surprise when she stepped on a rock or something, windmilled around for a second, and then hit the ground in a very ungraceful kind of bellyflop.

Today was fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.

What Thor had going for him: he was surprisingly fast and nimble for a man of his size wearing full armor.

What Thor had going against him: the size of target he presented, and also that he was not accustomed to dodging projectiles fired by a dog with a paintball launcher strapped to it.

Modifications to his plans were clearly going to be required for next week. The cape would have to be left at home, for one thing.
