Yoga; Friday, Fourth Period [05/24].

Once again, yoga class was going to be meeting on the beach, and, once again, Rosa was going to get right into it so she could be done with the talking and get straight to the good stuff, aka, stretching and not talking.

It was something she would like for her students to take as a cue from here, but she was not hopeful of that being the case.

"The second week," she said, "means we're moving onto the second chakra to focus on, the svadhishthana chakra--good luck saying that three times fast--also known as the sacral chakra. It's said to be the energy source for prana‘vyana, which is the energy of circulation. It's tied in with the element of water and the color orange. Svadishthana basically means 'dwelling place of the Self,' so this chakra aligns with things like," there was a sigh, because this was always a fun one for the class, really, "sexuality, desires, and creativity. It's supposedly located in the lower abdomen below the navel. When it's open, you're supposed to be more likely to feel creative and open with your wants and desires and personal relationships. When it's blocked, people tend to be overly sensitive or irritable, prone to depression or anger."

What do you mean, was she even qualified to teach how to open this chakra?

"But anyway," she said, "that's the idea behind it, so let's get to some asana that balance this sacral chakra to leave to you being more emotionally balanced as a person, or whatever. First, though, our warm up, and then we'll get into some poses to work on today."
