Amaya had definitely been on this island long enough (too long, maybe, even) to finally figure out what was going on this week by the time she'd smashed her thumb for the third time yesterday, and she'd gotten to a point where she had a handy solution that she found herself pursuing with eagerness rather than reluctance. So there was definitely a part of her brain floating around the idea of just making it a free period this week.

However, she did also remember those times when solutions were a bit less pleasant and/or few and far between, so, out of sympathy for those like herself who preferred distraction above all else in those cases, she was definitely holding class.

It was going to be incredibly simple, though, but hopefully a good way to work out some of that pent-up frustration without too many injuries as a result.

"Well, guys," she stated, with a nod, "this week, we're just going to practice an important skill for any shop class to learn, and that's....construction. Kind of. Listen, we've got hammers," she held up the one in her hand, "we got nails," she held up the fan of nails in her other hand, "we got boards," a gesture toward the lumber waiting beside her. "Let's just have at it. Bonus points if you actually managed to build yourself something here today, but there's no expectation of that, because there are two different variations of the concept of nailing something, and if you can't do the one, might as well do the other."

And, quite frankly, Amaya planned on getting around to both. She always was a fan of multitasking.

Ready to let out some pent-up energy.

Be grateful that Amaya actually has been learning a thing or two about her speech patterns and how they could be interpreted in unexpectedly dirty ways. Sure, she's not always hypervigilant about it, but today? She definitely is.

Not only are there plenty of standard hammers and nails, but Amaya also brought in everything from a ballpeen to a sledge, with tiny nails all the way up to railroad spikes, so you could really tailor your nailing experience to your needs...

Although, sometimes, the less said, the better.

At precisely ten minutes until the end of class -- Irene was nothing if not attentive to detail, although on a different day, she might have teased this out a bit longer -- a message hit Amaya's phone, accompanied by a photograph. The photo in question was, perhaps not surprisingly, a selfie Irene had taken just a moment prior.

It was probably also not particularly surprising that she was in a state of undress in said photo. Classily angled, of course, but also clearly more naked than not.

It was also quite a deliberate choice on Irene's part that that was neither a request nor a suggestion. Wheedling and flirting and subtlety were for other weeks; sex pollen called for more direct measures.

If no one other than Beaker hadn't managed to hammer a nail straight through their hand by now, then Amaya figured they were pretty good, so when her phone buzzed with an incoming message, she didn't think twice about pulling it out of her pocket to check it.

And then very quickly lowered it again, clicking the screen off, and staring around the classroom with cheeks ablaze and checking to make sure that hadn't gotten noticed by anyone else. And when it seemed that she was in the clear and, in fact, no one was paying attention, she was just going to have a little closer look at that picture...

(Maybe a little more than a little).

But she cleared her throat, remembered where she was, glared a little at the time still left in the period, and send her response.

She had a few ideas. Mostly just her preparation to stay over for a while...

Beaker

You know, if Irene were to respond, it was only right that it be with another picture, right? This time, a different angle, with quite a bit more revealed (since she could now assume that Amaya was clued in to keep her phone well-shielded) and a heaping load of eye contact with the camera.

Not all of Irene's former professional skills had to do with whips and such, you know. There was an art to making oneself personally hireable via the internet, and taking luxuriously sexy photos was a huge part of it.

Stark didn't really need to nail things. Not that he objected. It was satisfying and he was getting into a rhythm and thinking of other things entirely after a few minutes.

There might have been some shifting toward a generally obscured corner of the workshop. You know. Just in case.

But if Irene was expecting a swift response, she should have known better than to send that picture, but she'd hear no complaints out of Amaya. She eventually managed to remember that she should respond and actually how to.

yeah I don't think i'll be needing much of those at all

A moment later she thought to add:

No surprise you're ahead of the game though. I'll have some catching up to do.
