Political Campaigning (Thursday, April 27, 4th period)

Josh had brought coffee and pizza for the class. The walls were decorated with campaign posters for the three candidates and a phone in the corner was rigged to ring every two minutes.

Add it to the huge, practically sentient pile of papers on Josh's desk and it looked very much like a campaign office.

"Okay, guys," he said, smiling. "Today you get to show me if I've managed to teach you anything at all about campaigning." He sat down in his chair. "Grab some pizza and coffee and demonstrate how your guy is going to be the Senator from Montana come November."

Or eating pizza or spazzing out about your potential grades. Josh is good with all of it.

"It has been an absolute pleasure teaching all of you," Josh said. "Good luck in whatever it is you're doing--either this summer or out in the real world for you seniors. And if you ever think that a call from a former senior staffer from the White House might get you out of a jam--pick up that phone and call me, all right?"

You guys have been a *blast*. Thank you for playing along with the insanity.

*glomps Josh* Right back atcha!

Parker signed in.

There are charts, there are graphs, and there are photos, and photoshopped images. Some of them of Montgomery Burns. With rap stars. And Chris LeDoux. And llamas.

"Jake's up first. But frankly, we think our candidate is a lock."

Wah! *clings*

Angel signed in.

He was wearing the sunglasses Cam had given him (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/848135.html?thread=39399431#t39399431).

*clings back, woe*

Josh smirked. "Nice shades, man."

"Borrowed 'em from a friend," Angel said. Nope, not making eye contact. Not with anybody.

*gets duct tape*

Yep, there Angel was. Hanging out after class again. In hindsight the appearance of a crush on Josh should not have come so out of left field.

"They suit you," Josh said. "Very...Bono."

In spite of not working with Liz and Logan anymore, Angel had still done two campaigns for his part of the Morrison presentation.

One covered the way he would do it if he was in charge, complete with strategic use of negative campaigning, use of fear, and subtle attacks on the other candidates.

The other he'd done, without being asked, for Rory. It was a campaign that stuck only with the positive.

Angel didn't really think the second one would work, but he wanted to do it for Rory anyway.

"Could be worse," Angel said. "You could've picked somebody non-Irish."

"Nice work on your presentation," Josh said, smiling.

"Thanks," Angel said. He gave a shrug. "Wanted to show Rory I believed in her, even if I don't think that method would work."

"God forbid," Josh replied.

Angel took a seat. "I'm assuming you're not thinking of the silver-sequins wearing phase."

Josh shuddered. "Never when I can help it, no."
