Whatever reaction Connor had been expecting, he wasn't quite prepared for that. He felt the breath get knocked out of him a bit at that response, and almost instantly, that voice, Helen's voice, was back in his head, reminding him that this was to be expected, that he was always going to leave, and that there was nothing he could do about it.

"Fine by me" Connor snapped back as he turned away, trying to hide the tears that were starting to fall. "Aside from class stuff, you can just keep considering me invisible. You've done a good job at that so far after all."

And with that, Connor grabbed the papers and started towards the door, looking over his shoulder as he called for Rex.
