Gladio had been really looking forward to his class this week, and it was especially true now, because if there was another to help swing the pendulum back to the other side for him, it was spending a little time out in the great outdoors, even if just for a little bit. It was a pretty good day for it, too, in his opinion, so he was eager waiting for the class to collect and gather themselves on the outside of the preserve, a bunch of camping gear and equipment at his feet, and ready to get going.

"Hey, everyone," he greeted, with a nod and a grin, when it got to be about that time. "Let's Go Camping!"

With that, he reached down and grabbed one of the tent packs to sling over his shoulder. "Everyone," he said, "grab a pack and let's get started. Today, we're going to be focusing on shelter, which is usually going to be your primary focus when you get started on a new campsite. But we gotta get to the campsite first, so I hope you thought to bring your hiking boots," excuse him a moment while he took a moment to glance at everyone's feet pointedly, "because we've got a trek ahead of us first. And once we get to the spot, I'll show you guys how to pitch a tent."

He let that sit, just for one second.

"Bit of a warm one today, too," he added, "so make sure to grab a water bottle from the cooler, and let's head out."

With some kind of shelter.

As Gladio leads everyone through the preserve on the way to their designated camping spot, he's going to also give a brief lecture on the importance of a shelter in the wilderness.. Discussion and questions are encouraged! But, then again, so is just enjoying the hike and the nature.

And once everyone's arrived at the campsite spot, it's time to set up your tents! Gladio will lead in the instructions for everyone to follow along with, while also mentioning how important it is to find a good, quality tent you can depend on, just like the classic Coleman^TM ones you're using today, but, of course, sometimes, you can't always have a tent on hand, so he'll be sparing some time to go over other shelter alternatives if you haven't quite got the luxury of one of Coleman^TM's fine line of camping products!

Perhaps you'd like to know more about the fine Coleman^TM tents you've had the pleasure of working with today?

Connor Temple

Connor was beginning to wonder what he had gotten himself into with this class and if he had already bitten off more than he could chew, considering what his ongoing recovery was like. But it would be fine... he hoped. He at least had his good shoes on today so that was something.

Connor had to let Gladio know what he thought about the first class given the unique perspective he had on the whole camping out in the wilds thing.

"I definitely prefer the tents for shelter" he said with a slight grin. "Better than spending a year roughing it in the wilderness living under the roots of an ancient tree. Would have killed to have had a tent back then. Though Im not sure even these fancy ones would have been much protection against a Spinosaurus."

"I don't know, man," Gladio said with a faint grin and a huff of a laugh as he tried to picture, "roots of an an ancient tree? That sounds kind of nice, actually. Maybe not for a year, but....I could think of much worse places to end up having to make camp, but I like nature, so...

"A Spinosaurus, though, huh? That pretty much what it sounds like?"

"Was nice for a bit but it was definitely lacking the comforts of home" Connor said with a smirk. "And yeah pretty much- big angry dinosaur with spines and a sail, very territorial and very much not fond of people being in the area."

"So something tells me," said Gladio, with a little bit of a faint, knowing huff of a laugh, "you're not exactly falling on the 'amateur' side of things when it comes to camping. Well...or at least to roughing it, huh? Hopefully, the worse we'll have to deal with out here are a few gremlins, raccoons, and alots."

Probably an alot of product placement, more than anything else.

Alara Kitan

Alara really enjoyed hiking so she was quite enjoying the walk and taking everything in as she focused on her hike.

There was a small laugh at that.

"A few years ago I would have been solidly in that mature category. But it's amazing how much survival mode kicks in and helps you adjust when the situation calls for it." Connor gave a small nod to Gladio though as he continued "Glad to hear survival mode won't likely come into play for the clas though."

"Yeah," Gladio huffed, a bit sardonically, "I've had enough of Survival Mode myself, for a while. This class is meant to be just fun and enjoyment of the great outdoors. Maybe a little helpful along the way, too. Assuming, of course, Fandom cooperates, but that goes without saying."
