Beginner's Guide to Heroism, Wednesday - 2nd Period
"Well," Jane said. "Today we'll be covering something thar some people just completely disregard back home, but not everyone! There's thar Spider-Man guy."
Not important. Also, weird magic happened there.
"And that is secret identities and if you think you might need one to keep your heroic actions separate from your personal life and friends and family."
Because wow did they ever all get dragged into things.
"Now, me personally... I'm not sure about it." For reasons best not gotten into. "But I did find out that I can make a magic helmet to cover up my face for people to not know it's me!"
Look at that helmet. It was progress in learning these powers.
"So, what about you all? Secret identity or no?"

"Well," Graham reasoned, from the current comfort of inexperience and naiveté, "I wouldn't be much of a knight at all, would I, if I let harm come to those I care about just because of who I am! I'll just have to be extra vigilant, so those ne'er-do-wells never get the chance! But I feel that's also just part of the job."

Christopher Ecclestona Dark Elf because of your kind of boyfriend, these things came to mind!"Just something to keep in mind," Jane agreed, nodding along with that enthusiasm. It was infectious, really.
Re: Discuss!
You would think that was how it would go, wouldn't you...
"I'd definitely do everything in my power to keep them out of it, though. And, you know, a secret identity may seem like a good way to throw people off, but, really, all it is, is just giving them an extra step to have to go through, while maybe giving a person a false sense of security. Because the thing about secrets is...someone always find out eventually....and...I've always heard that secrets don't make friends."
Re: Discuss!
Jane looked a little thoughtful at it. "And maybe by that time your loved ones would also be able to defend themselves based off of your example."

And not being kept secret by an older murderous man with mysterious powers might someday get her imprisoned for decades. Oops?

She was more often the plot device used to get at a hero/anti-hero/villain (it depended on the day).
