The Gladiators would come into the Danger Shop that day to find a large foam pyramid at the center of the arena, so if anyone was wondering what they might be doing for this week's challenge, Rosa might let you skip wearing the helmet this week because there was clearly nothing up there that needed to be protected.

"Alright, Gladiators," she nodded once they all seemed settled and geared up, "this is the Pyramid. The goal is simple: get to the top. But, of course, it won't be that simple. Sniper. Crocker ~~or whatever name he picked~~ ~~assuming they were there~~. Based on your performances last week in Human Cannonball, you have been selected to defend the top of the pyramid. Do whatever it takes to make sure the other gladiators don't reach the top. We'll be doing rounds of two; the first one to the top gets the chance to compete again for ultimate champion, which...might give you an advantage next week.

"Any questions? If not, Sniper, Crocker, head on up and get ready to defend the territory; the rest of you, get limber, get stretched, and get ready."

Ready to climb!

If you have any questions, Rosa will definitely take them, but she might have a few questions of her own for you if you're having trouble with "climb the big foam mountain."

Also a good time warm up and to try to hype or psych each other out, which is a time honored tradition in any gladiatorial enterprise, really.

The rounds will be heats determined by victors and eliminations. I'm going to kill you with OCD, please make the threads as messy as you need/want within each heat to achieve what has been dictated by the All-Powerful RNG! Gladiators, get your climb on. Defenders, get ready to throw down!

(What? Did you think she'd actually go with Spider-Man?)

Annie makes it to the top first! Captain Tightpants is eliminated.

Rosa is not laughing. really.

Cap makes it to the top first! Five is eliminated.

Sloth makes it to the top first (ironically)! Diego is eliminated.

Nexu makes it to the top first! Devil Dog is eliminated.

The victors of the last four rounds get to the chance to find ultimate victory in a rush to the top, but in a sudden turn of events, the eliminated Gladiators are to join Sniper and Duke at the top of the pyramid to prevent (or perhaps stealthily aid) the challengers from getting to the top!

So Annie, Cap, Sloth, and Nexu, get ready to charge up the Pyramid one last time!

Sniper, Duke, Tightpants, Five, Diego, and Devil Dog, see what you can do to keep that from happening!

In the end, though, Annie proves victorious over all, followed by Sloth, Cap, and Nexu.

Who is still wondering if she should be oiling up the pyramid or not when she does this one...

If anyone still wants to handwave a Gladiator name because you didn't get to it last week, just drop it in here and they shall be known as that henceforth.

"Right.... this is nothing" Billy said looking up the pyramid trying to figure the best way up. "It's not at all like basic training...."

Steve was far too excited about trying this out after watching the first round go up. He started scrambling immediately, hoping to outrun the defenders coming down for him.

Not unless your basic training included Navy SEALs jumping at you from four pyramid steps up, no.

"Heads up!"

Duke was . . . not terribly impressed by that pyramid. There weren't even fake rocks he could throw at people while defending it.

It might have been a while, but you can't take the Marines out the man.... and you never truly stop watching your back after surviving a zombie apocalypse. So Billy was surprisingly quick on his feet as he dodged out of the way.

"Nice try there, Nexu, is it?" Billy quipped as he tried to get a fix on Steven's location after that dodge.

Steve grinned over at him. "Guess we're going to do a lot of tackling people."

He freaking loved tackling people.

"Sniper, brah," Steve corrected. "This is my pyramid."

"You are way too excited about that," Duke noted.

"I'm the right amount of excited," Steve declared. "No one here ever runs from the cops. I'm out of tackling practice."

He probably would, unless other Steve managed to cut him off or something. Duke was agile and in pretty good shape, but he was no speed demon. There was no way he'd be outrunning Steve Rogers.

"I'll take the little guy," he decided.

Sorry, Five.

Duke sighed. "I don't know what Danny sees in you."

That was a lie.
