Meeting the class outside the school yet again, Gladio grinned at the students and got right into it; after all, they only had so much time in a class period, and he wanted to get the most out of it. "Alright, guys," he said, "it's the last class of the semester, which means we're just going to try and enjoy it by taking a little trip out to Montana. Specifically the Huckleberry Mountain Lookout trail, which is said to be a good, moderate height with some really fantastic views and it's an area known to have a lot of bear activity, so you've got to really keep an eye out."

Not that he imagined they'd really have that much trouble with a mountain lion likely trailing it up with them, but, still. You think Gladio's going to come across a well-known bear trail and not pick that one?

"And it all ends at a fire lookout that will provide a good space for us to go over some of the things we've learned about setting up camp and any last minute questions or thoughts you might have. With that said, let's hike on over to Portalocity and get hit the road."

Off into the....semi-wilderness!

The first four miles of this trail make up for most of its elevation, but once you're up there, the views really are pretty great, assuming you've been able to avoid the bears along the way, at any rate. It's definitely not the kind of trail that should give you too much trouble (approrpiate footwear pending, Tahani), but it shouldn't feel like too much of just a stroll in the park, either.

And once they've reached the Lookout summit, it's time to show off those camp-setting skills you've picked up, ask to any questions about anything else you might want covered, or just sit back, enjoy the view, and feel accomplished for the good hike and the not bieng eaten by bears.

One thing Gladio is going to really miss about this planet are the wilderness opportunities without all the complications of going anywhere outside of Insomnia these days....

Alara had definitely enjoyed the hiking aspect of the class this semester and this last one was no exception.

She also really liked the views that the trail offered and was spending some time to stare out at them.

Juillenne Milone (and Camden)

Heck, even if Jules had elected to leave Cam behind (which she had not, of course), they'd be pretty damn safe from bears and other wildlife with sharp teeth and claws. This was the girl who, after all, had coaxed a bear into becoming basically an overgrown puppy back home.

Though hopefully she wouldn't need to resort to that here.
