This would be fine, Vi told herself. It wasn't like it was a rifle or a pistol, it barely even looked like a real cannon. This was all just a more advanced version of Powder's favourite game in the arcade. The one Vi had never played if she could help it.

And it wasn't that hard. The controls weren't that complicated, and her hand-eye co-ordination was decent, so it was easy enough to figure out where to aim and when to fire. Easy enough to see how someone could treat this like a game in real life, could pretend ships weren't filled with real people, that explosions were just flashes of light and sound instead of overwhelming force that-

...aaaaaaaaaand there was Vi's breakfast making a reappearance as she scrambled away from the controls.
