Exit Strategies, Monday, Period 2

The Danger Shop was set up as the swankiest of swanky parties. The food was good, the drinks may or may not have contained alcohol, attractive gentlebeings of all genders and species mingled. In all it was the kind of event you'd expect your teacher to be summarily ejected from.

"I feel I've been neglecting your soft skills," Aphra said, that and she felt like a party. "So enjoy the do, mingle, have some snacks, deal with a random awkward social situation, just have fun."

For actual enjoyment of fake parties.

About midway through the party, your random social situation kicks in. However shall you handle it.

Alexis - Your ex who you're still hung up on is here, and they feel the same way about you! Pity you already have a plus one.
Guillermo - Despite it being your week off, your boss won't stop texting you with things they want you to do.
Illyana - Your sexy new frenemesis is trying to murder your mentor. It's really putting a cramp on flirting with them.
Liberty - It's your job to escort Grandma and keep her out of trouble. Grandma is a card shark and has heard about an illegal high stakes sabacc tournament in one of the the back rooms.
Tahani - Oh, look, it's creepy Uncle Sheev. Creepy Uncle Sheev with the bad politics. Creepy Uncle Sheev who believes you love spending time with him. And he's seen you.
Vi - That wookiee really wants to pick a fight with you. Do you owe him money or something?

Liberty Hazlett

Libby knew, by now, that all this was technically fake and not even a real party, but she'd never really been to parties, unless to counted the odd church potluck or picnic or the Hazlett Family exclusive yard-or-barn events, and she'd definitely never been to a party like this before, so she was going to try her best not to just boggle at everything or get nervous about it or what might be thrown at her, because she was pretty sure most social situations were bound to be a little awkward with her regardless.

Oh! Well! This shouldn't be too hard! Or at least Libby hoped. She didn't have a lot of experiences with grandmas, either, so this could also be a combination of disaster. It sounded like she should generally be trying to keep Grandma away from the back rooms in general.

"Hi, Grandma!" she gushed out a greeting and a sweet smile and generally seemed to be trying to guide this conversation toward the front of the party. "How have you been? Are you having a good time so far?"

And she was genuinely interested, too, because she looked like a really interesting grandma!

She didn't know about Aphra, but this was definitely the kind of party that someone like Vi would get tossed out of pretty quickly.

So she got stuck into the food even quicker..

Vi didn't owe anyone money, she just had one of those faces that people seemed to want to punch.

She'd also been really enjoying most of an entire platter of appetisers when the hairy howling thing threw a punchbowl at her head.

Naturally she responded by dodging out of the way of the punchbowl and flinging the platter back at the wookiee.

Tahani al-Jamil

Tahani lived for these sorts of things! "Darling!" she trilled, airkissing the nearest, most attractive being. "It's been simply ages. Do tell me what you've been up to."

Ew. "Oh, hello there!" Tahani said. "I've found the appetizers to be simply sublime. Shall I fetch you a plate, Uncle?"

Possibly never to return?

Guillermo had never been to any kind of party before …he and Jeremy didn’t get invited to them, so he was already socially awkward as he tried to do his best at mingling and interacting, that mostly included him awkwardly waving at be smiling at random people.

“Oh I’m so sorry,” Guillermo kept saying to people as his phone kept going off, “it’s my boss…er…you know? It’s ..an emergancy, yes …I’m just going to have to quickly respond, don’t mind me,” he tried.
