Detention 4-15

The danger shop looks like the Roosevelt room. Around the conference table are five chairs. Take a seat. CJ's sitting at the head of the table. In the middle is a book without a title, only a raised symbol.

Walter Dornez
Rory Gilmore
Anakin Skywalker
Aeryn Sun

"Welcome to detention, kids. Someone take up the book and start reading aloud. Elocution and enunciation are critical qualitites of public speaking, as is reading unfamiliar material without making mistakes."

[[Detention is out at 4pm today. Enjoy your evening, merry band!]]

Aeryn signs in. Peeved on principle.

[Now with grammar, wtf.]

Anakin signed in.

Anakin looked at the book, then at the rest of the table. "I could do it, I guess," he said, "if no one minds or anything."

Might as well get this thing started, he thought. Force only knew what Obi-Wan would get up to unsupervised. Jaye might find him or something.

Rory gave him a small smile. "It's fine with me," she said quietly, shrugging.

"Please." Walter scrubbed his face and tried to look awake.

Anakin reached for the book. It wasn't a treaty written in Huttese and he had been well-trained on the importance of getting words right, so he didn't have any problem reading the first few sentences.

"It was midnight in the Howling forest. The wind whistled through the tops of the ancient trees. Suddenly, something enormous crashed and rumbled through the eerie woods," he read.

Aeryn yawns. It's too early and there's a book.

Rory doesn't yawn. It's a book.

Walter doesn't yawn. It's against the unwritten butler code. That? Was just a tic or something.

"Um?" Rory said, staring at the box. "What's going on?"

"Huh," Anakin said, looking at the box. "That's strange."

He poked at the lid. "Wonder if it'll open."

"If there's a gremlin in here, I'm killing it," Aeryn decides.

Looking around, Walter sees he's not the only one with a box. What the hell, he tries to open it to look inside.
