Goose found that having his class first thing in the morning went well because it meant he could do his early morning run around the island and then go over to set up for class. Even though this week he wasn’t planning on anything that required a lot of setting up do he mostly focused on finalising his next few lesson plans while he waited.

“Good morning,” he nodded once everyone had turned up, “I know we’re a small class this semester and I do know Jo from class last semester but I thought we could still do introductions regardless it is the first week and they’re pretty standard around here,” he grinned, “so why mess with tradition? I’d like to know your name, class and your experience with either mechanical engineering or engineering in general so I’ll start,” he said, “I’m Shane Gooseman, most people call me Goose. I’m from West Australia and its 2107 for me, I’m part of the Galaxy Rangers Series 5 Task Force and part of my responsibilities involving fixing machines or help in the building of them, “ he nodded, “who would like to go next?”

Josephine Jones

"I'm Josephine Jones, I go by Jo," Jo said with a smile when it was her turn, "I'm a freshman and I'm from South West England, 1953 and my only experience with engineering was your class that last semester Mr. Gooseman," she told him.

"Ahhhh...." Sakaki sounded a little nervous as she stood up; you'd think by now she'd be used to introductions, but you'd think wrong, and she still couldn't help giving an awkward sort of half-bow out of sheer habit still, and she tried to follow the beats of the other introductions as best she could. "My name is Sakaki, I...I'm a sophomore, and I am from Japan. I...I think I'm not exactly on the right time frame, but it's not that much of a difference. And I don't know anything about engineering, but I guess...it could be helpful?"

Goose nodded, "welcome Sakaki," he said, "this is definitely the right place to start if you want to learn about machinery but a lot of the principles we learn in this course can be applicable to other areas," he paused, "it can also definitely be a helpful skill to have," he assured her.

"Welcome back Jo," Goose nodded, it still felt weird to be referred to as Mr. Gooseman but it seemed Jo wasn't comfortable calling him by his first name, "I hope you also enjoy class this semester, there will be some crossover from the last class but hopefully you'll still pick up something new as well,"
