How to Be A Chocobro; Friday, First Period [11/19].

Well. It was a good thing that today's class was already planned to be mostly Gladio's thing, because he seemed to be the only one of the three teachers that seemed to have any kind of presence of mind for the lesson that morning. Ignis looked like he was attempting to find the secret of the universe at the bottom of a coffee mug, and Prompto had almost tried to bail out entirely before he was reminded that they were a team, they did this together, and it wasn't good for him to just mope around all day, anyway. Which just meant that, as soon as they got into the Danger Shop and the first chocobo popped up, he was on it like a bridle, clinging for some much needed chocobo snuggles.

And Gladio sighed and shook his head, and turned his attention fully toward the students, as he lifted an absurdly large sword up and rested it over his shoulders.

"Last week," he said, "we covered firearms, which are Prompto's speciality, and this week, we're covering swords, which is mine. Now, I'm not expecting you all to be able to weild a bad boy like this one, but I do want you all to give one of the variety of swords that this danger shop thing can generate a try. Pick one that you feel suits you, and we'll go from there. I'm going to go over a few sword techniques with all of you, and then I want you to give them a try. You can practice against a practice dummy, buddy up and spar with each other, since this is the danger shop and we don't have to worry about anyone accidentally losing a limb or nothing, or, if you really want a challenge, you can go ahead and challenge me." He grinned at them. "But I'm gonna warn you, I won't go easy.

"And if you feel you've got a hang on the sword stuff, already," he added, "I'd like to work with you on adding a shield into the mix, too. It adds a different element, and it helps if you've got the sword technique down first before you add in the shield, and if you're new to it, I don't want you to feel too overwhelmed. But obviously, a shield is going to be a great addition to your defenses if you're fighting with swords.

"Go ahead and take some time to figure out what sword you want to use; we can all help you find one that works for you, and then we'll get started on going through the techniques, and we'll go from there.

"And, as always..." He grinned over at one as it nudged its beak against his shoulders, "mind the chocobos."

Ignis was rather wishing he'd brought a bigger mug with him that morning, and rather contemplating if refills were something the danger shop could do and if it would even have much of an effect if it did.

Although, really, Ignis drank so much coffee that he was likely immune to the effects by now and just drank it out of habit/comfort.

And it was definitely a much quieter and reserved Prompto in the classroom today, rather than his usual bright and bubbly and hyper self. Of course, if anyone were to come and see him or talk to him, he'd put on a good front, but...for now, he was just glad it worked out that it was Gladio's class this week and that they had chocobos.

“Now what,” Juillenne said slowly, “about if one wanted to try a sword like that one?” she nodded towards Gladio’s sword.

Jules nodded, taking the sword and- after a taking a moment to let her war-gift adjust to the balance of the weapon- gave it an experimental swing.

“Never met a weapon that didn’t like me,” she said, grinning cheekily at him. “Though I admit carrying something like this around on a day-to-day basis would probably be a little impractical for me.”
