Bounty Hunting for Beginners | Tuesday, 1st Period
It was day two of introductions week, so hopefully no one was sick to death of saying who they were yet. Because guess what was happening even in this class!
Din was at the ready for their students to arrive, not showing how uncomfortable this whole thing was making him. You know. As the only one in the duo who had no freakin' clue what he was doing here. "Welcome to the class," he said, glancing over at Faye.
"Hey," Faye called, leaning against the nearest wall or desk or whatever. Just as long as she didn't have to stand up straight. "This is bounty hunting class. If you didn't sign up for it, join the club." Because neither had they! "And stick around, 'cause you might learn something, because we're both experts in the field."
Listen to her talk you up, Din! That was nice of her! (Ignore the fact that Faye was blatantly lying, and she was in no way any kind of an expert. In almost anything. At all.)
Well, it was good to give their students a sense of confidence in their teachers at least.
"I was told that it's tradition to do an introduction for the first class." Unless Faye lied to him. Which was possible. "But we also wanted to know why you wanted to learn about bounty hunting. It's not exactly an easy profession."
"Pff." Faye was all too happy to undermine that. "I mean, maybe for you."
Not the time to be contrary for the hell of it, Valentine. "But yes, tell us why you want to be bounty hunters. It takes a pretty specific type of person."
The morally flexible kind, in her experience.
Din sighed, just letting her go on down that path. "The sort who doesn't get killed easily, I've found."
"Quick on your feet," Faye supplied, nodding in agreement. "So that you don't get killed."
For some reason, a lot of times people who you were chasing and threatening to take to jail didn't want to go!
"So, tell us your reasons for it and we can see how the class will go for you," Din said, glad they could agree on that one skill.

Re: Introductions! [5/11]
"Hiiiiiiii," she lifted a hand with the sort of grin that went along with knowing what a train wreck this class had the potential to be considering the circumstances she'd been privy to on account of being Din's teaching buddy. "I'm Summer. Bartender, store manager, beloved teacher, jello shot caterer, party planner....and I just kind of thought to myself, you know what? Five jobs? In this economy? Girl, where is your hustle? So I think bounty hunting could be a great number six, you know? Flexible scheduling, never a dull moment, significantly more emotionally fulfilling than Uber....I'm so totally in. I'm already stupid good at not dying, even!"
There was a faint beat.
"Wait. Do you guys think there's Uber for spaceships? I could totally be down for Uber with spaceships."

"My name is Enola Holmes. I am a detective, a decipherer and a finder of lost souls," she said confidently. "Though I may look young, I have already found and rescued a nobleman and a noblewoman from my time period. I wish to continue these endeavors and believe a class such of this will heighten my skills."
Re: Introductions! [5/11]
Look, sure, the girl had said 'rescue,' but Faye was assuming there was at least a ransom involved here.

"Safety isn't a guarantee even when you know what you're doing. Your best option would be to learn how to adapt to whatever the job throws at you."
You know. Just adopt your bounty and raise them as your child. No big.
Re: Introductions! [5/11]
"I don't require a guarantee," Enola said nodding in acknowledgement. "However learning to adapt, especially an environment like this island would be somewhat beneficial for my line of work."
Re: Talk to the Teachers [5/11]
She would withhold her critique of his artwork, which Faye thought was pretty kind of her, honestly.
Re: Introductions! [5/11]
BECAUSE THIS PLACE.
Re: Talk to the Teachers [5/11]
Grogu held it up for her because it was a gift, maker damn it. It was a gift.
Re: Talk to the Teachers [5/11]
"For me to keep?" she checked, uncertain as she took the paper carefully. "I mean, you really captured my essence."
Shhhhhhh, she was a soft touch when it came to the kid. Look at his face!

Really, Strange? Really?
"I suppose he figures it may be useful in our line of work, which sometimes requires tracking down people or creatures who are causing Problems."
