Today the Danger Shop was set up like a kitchen, or rather, 'kitchen' as the equipment was decidedly haphazard.

"So it occurred to me that some of you are probably going to be graduating soon." Probably, it's not like she'd actually paid attention to what year they were in. "And going on to study on planets were it doesn't literally rain food. So in the interests of helping you make it to next homecoming I'm going to teach you to cook like university students."

And by that she meant giving them ingredients and letting them them figure out how to make something edible.

Lydia, for the moment, was going to just consider her ingredients and whether she could actually make them into food.

Like. Food she wanted to eat, no, but...she could at least boil the noodles, right? That was a good start.

Mark it as another point against her mother, but cooking was never something Astrid had to worry about learning, for all the times she either had to fend for herself in a kitchen or risk going days without any food at all. Right down to making trips by herself to corner markets for things like eggs, milk, cereal...

So she was comfortable with the cooking, even if the ingredients seemed a bit different from what she was used to, strictly speaking, but that just meant getting to jabe a little bit of fun experimenting, at least.
