Today the Danger Shop was made up like an office lobby, and Kitty was dressed in a nice, professional-looking suit.

"Previously, we talked about finding a job, and today we're going to work on the first step," she began. "You're going to have an interview, and you're even going to have to look the part. Now, there's this old saying about dressing for the job you want, not the one you have. So you're never going to want to go in in jeans and a t-shirt, though you also don't have to get super dressed up if you're looking for something like a retail job. Try to make yourself look presentable, like you're put together and responsible. You're going to figure out what kind of job you want to say you're interviewing for, and then use your best judgment as to how you look.

"And then you're going to sit down for an interview with me," Kitty went on. "Normally you're going to want to show up fifteen minutes early to fill out paperwork, and don't be late. If you can't help but be late, call and tell them or see if you can reschedule, and give as much notice as possible. If you have a copy of a resume, bring it, along with two forms of ID. If you didn't do a job application for them before, you probably will now. They want to know about your experience and schooling and people who can vouch for you, which by the way, you can always use me for. And then once that's done, they'll bring you in to talk about yourself. So, go get ready, and then I'll call you in."

Troy Barnes

Troy was searching through the racks, considering what he should probably pick out while feeling grateful he didn't have to go through these kinds of lengths when he gotten his actual job, but then he settled on a nice blazer and button down shirt, pretty sure that if he'd done anything more than that, he'd look so nerdy, he'd have to beat himself up.

"Yes, hello," said Troy, adopting the sort of 'professional' tone to his voice that he tended to use for his radio broadcasts, with a confident swagger under it that he was pretty sure he was going to nail this. "I'm Troy Barnes. I'm here to dazzle you with my interview."

He'd pretty much gotten his job by walking into a place and saying he was interested in one, so he felt that meant he was probably just a natural.

Kitty made a face like maybe "dazzle" was maybe too lofty a word, but then stood to greet him with a smile and a handshake.

"Good to meet you, Mr. Barnes. Which position are you applying for today?"

"The....available one," said Troy, after an uncertain moment between taking Kitty's hand and then taking a seat, trying to remember if what sort of job they were interviewing for had even been brought up. "I assure you, I am...quite qualified."

She'd wanted them to have something in mind when they got dressed, but she understood how that might slip past, so she'd be helpful.

"If you had to pick what job you'd be qualified for to interview right now, what would it be?" Kitty prompted.

"Quarterback," Troy said, immediately, without hesitation. Or thought the thought and remembering that he couldn't really play football anymore came a second later. "No, wait. Radio host. Music store clerk!"

Was he just listing off things he'd gotten experience in since he started going here? Duh-doy.

"Former quarterback disc jockey record store clerk," he decided, nodding on the almagamation of it all with confidence.

"Oooh, wait. Scrap the clerk part. Let's do sports commentator!"

With that, he put his finger to his ear as if holding a headset in place. "And there goes Culter with the pass, shat an atm! The pass is good, they're heading down the field, no one can catch him, almost there, aaand... touchdown! The crowd goes wild!"

And in case Kitty needed the extra atmosphere, Troy definitely had it covered with the crowd cheering noises, too.

That was a journey, Troy.

"Very nice demonstration," Kitty tried. "What qualifications do you have, exactly?"

It usually was with Troy. Either a full on journey or a blink-and-you-miss-it blip. There was no inbetween.

"Well," he offered, "I was starting quarterback for Riverside High the past two years. I had to stop due to an injury, but I still love sports. And I've been doing the radio broadcasts here on the island for a while now, pretty much since I started to go here. I can even provide two references," like this was a lot, "Summer Smith and Astrid Magnussen, they've been my cohosts! And Tisarwat! She's my boss at the music store, I started working there a few weeks ago."

And then he looked insanely proud of himself for having all that to offer.

"Those aren't bad qualifications," Kitty admitted. Not enough for an actual pro broadcast job, but he did well! "What would you say is your best quality?"

And then, just in case, she added, "In the workplace?"

Illyana Rasputin

Illyana flipped through all the racks with a vague distaste. The idea of dressing to impress someone else was not exactly one she was thrilled with. Also? So not her style.

A gesture, and she was swallowed up by a stepping disc for a split-second before it spit her out again, this time in nice (practical) boots, black leather pants, a nice deep red cowl-necked tank-top, and leather coat. Good enough, hopefully?

"Hi, I'm Illyana Rasputin. I'm here about the bouncer job?"

Yes, because Illyana thought she'd make a GREAT bouncer for a bar. Easily underestimated; and perfectly willing to break a few arms to make a point.
