Good news! There was no trap today! Because you were starting class already in a prison cell.
Aphra, who was sitting on a bench outside the cell, waved cheerfully at them. "Today we're going to discuss a very important skill for when you might be in a sticky situation, cold reading," she told them. "Now on the whole, it's easy to get people to do what you want around if you know what they want. Now sometimes, you already know that, but when you don't you can use this little skill to get them to tell you what they want and make them think you're giving to them."
After a brief overview of what cold reading techniques actually involved. "Now in a moment a guard's gonna come in here and it's your job to get them to open your cell."
