Criminal Justice: 8:00-10:00
*The Tick stands behind a lecturn at the front of the class. He appears to be swaying ever-so-slightly and it might be a trick of the light but it looks like... no, there's no mistaking it, there is definitely smudged, glittery ink on his large chin that was probably alien words and flowers at one point. He also seems to be wearing a button of some sort. He doesn't seem to notice any of this.*
It is the start of a new day. A new day with a new class. A new class with a new teacher. And a new teacher with new students. Welcome, everyone, to your first session of Criminal Justice. I've always said that the first day of class is like a sponge. It sits there, silent, unmoving. And then, out of nowhere, SPLASH! A bunch of water hits it! Each of your minds is a drop of water. Your knowledge, your talent, makes the sponge grow damp. So now you have a damp sponge. Big whoop-di-doo!
But give it time. You'll learn and you'll fill the sponge up more. Before you know it, you'll be giving the sponge so much of your brain water that it will be oversaturated with the Water of Learning, and then we can clean the Counter of Crime and leave it spotless!
With our Morning Metaphor out of the way, it's time to discuss Criminal Justice.
At the center of this is crime. Remember class - you'll want to take notes on this, it'll be on the test - CRIME IS BAD! This will be our discussion for today. Why is crime bad? Discuss.
Before you get to that, I wanted to let you know how this class works. Class on Tuesday and Thursday. You have to be present for both classes or BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. Like, uh, your shoelace will come untied. You might trip! By jove, watch your laces! You only have to discuss once a week, though. And take your time. Justice must be vigilant, and that applies to discussion of it, too!
There will also be extra credit offered with arts & crafts. I'll tell you the topic and if you want bonus points, get it to me by the end of the week! It'll be FUN! This week's topic is your favorite crime-fighting tool.
Get to discussing!
(OOC: I'm loosely following the history class model. Basically, post something in the comments once a week (I know the standard rule is "comment in two class threads a week" but since there are only two CJ classes in a week, that doesn't quite work). Try to get something in there as often as possible, though. Feel free to just have it be "*character is present*" or something, and then at least once a week,"*character talks about topic*" or even stuff like "*character pretends to talk about topic when Tick is looking, but is actually playing Tic-Tac-Toe with somebody*" But, seriously, actual discussion is encouraged. The topics will generally be offbeat, so it could be fun.
With the E.C. feel free to say "Did the Extra Credit." But if you really want, feel free to Google and/or Photoshop something if you're bored.)
