The Cryptozoologist's Field Guide, Thursday, Period Two

Class was once again meeting in the Danger Shop. Unsurprising, given the fact that the syllabus was largely based on practical exercises. Surely the final exam would involve more of the same?

Nope.

The Danger Shop was set up to look exactly like an ordinary, unremarkable classroom, full of ordinary, unremarkable desks (save the extra-large desk to accommodate Sidon, obviously). On each ordinary, unremarkable desk was a single piece of ordinary, unremarkable paper.

"You've been a great class, and we've loved having the chance to teach you all a little bit about the cryptid world," Liam said cheerfully. "So now's your chance to show us what you've learned throughout the semester."

"Thank you all of you for your willingness to learn, your curiosity, and, most of all, not dying," Verity said, leaning against Liam with a slight grin. "Hopefully you'll join our next class, too."

It would not be a Danger Shop-based gym class, that was for damn sure. They'd learned their lesson on that one.

Sidon who actually had the chance to ping into this class for once, whaaaaaat? could't help but be a little bit amused (and maybe a touch sad) as he settled into the size-accomodating desk for his test (reminiscing a bit on how, once upon a time, he didn't even know how to read the writing here, much less actually write it himself!), and took a moment to hope that there were still students to get use out of thse particularly big desks even after he'd graduated. At least he hoped Grog would get to carry on the tradition!

And then Sidon went to focus on the test itself, breezing quickly through the multiple choice with only a few wrong answers, and then running into the problem of not quite having enough room for the paragraph-answer questions. Because even the ones that didnt' really require too many words for an answer, Sidon somehow managed to figure out a way to practically write a short novel for each of them.

He was just a very verbose Zora, it couldn't be helped!

Granted, most of those words in those overly long answers were qualifying adjectives regarding the magnificence, spectacularness, and wonderfulness of various creatures learned about throughout the class.

Rude, Miss Verity and Liam. Rude!

Nina shot them a look of perfectly calculated Tragic Despair before flipping her paper over and settling in to work.

She breezed through the multiple choice questions and, like Sidon, once she hit the paragraph-answer questions started having trouble with lack of space. The blank sides of her papers were shortly filled with her answers, in tiny, perfect handwriting as she worked to adjust to the limitations they'd imposed upon her.

That aside, well, Nina knew the material. It wasn't hard.

She did opine, at the very end, that the test could've been improved with More Dinosaurs though.
