There were several ways to do this. The easiest would just be to glue coins to end of the cork with one of the hot glue guns. There were various kinds of coins, so a variety of images were available.
Or, if someone wanted to be really fancy, they could use an x-acto knife to carve a design into the cork itself. The easiest way to do that would be to stamp a design onto the end with one of the rubber stamps, and then dig out all the inked parts. That would leave a debossed design in the end of one cork.
