An Excuse for Field Trips, Wednesday 4th period
Once again, class had been asked to dress warmly and in clothes they didn't mind getting dirty. Instead of jeans, Hannibal was in sturdy wool pants and overcoat, with a nice scarf and a large bag, and not his hat, Jono, were you happy?
Jono was, in fact, very happy! It was a stupid hat, Hannibal.
"Today we'll be going to Tashirojima, a small island off the coast of Japan - for those of you not familiar with Earth, Japan is a country far to the east - or, I suppose, the west - of us. The primary language is Japanese; should you have difficulties being understood, please let me know, and I will be happy to translate. However, our primary purpose there is not to visit the people on the island, but rather its more numerous residents."
//It should be noted that these more numerous residents are feral, and you're not encouraged to bring them home,// Jono added. //You see, Tashirojima is primarily populated by cats.//
Basically, they were just going to his happy place this week.
Hopefully nobody was allergic.
"There is a small shrine you may visit if you like, dedicated to the cats, particularly some who have been victim to falling rocks over the years. There are also some small shops to visit. There are no restaurants, so once again I will be supplying a snack, should you like, as well as food for our four-legged hosts."
//Who we aren't supposed to feed,// Jono added, amused, before raising a finger to... well, that part of his face that wasn't actually a face anymore, just below his nose. //Ssh.//
Feed the kitties, class. Just do it.
"An hour or perhaps two should be sufficient to explore and make friends," Hannibal said. "You may, as usual, leave at the end of the class, or remain for a while."

He'd never admit to cheating. But he was possibly cheating. A little.

And, sure, he spent time around cats all the time at the shelter, but not like this! And not so many! And he'd have to get, like, sooooo many cute cat pictures and snuggle with the kitties, and maybe leave for a liiiittle bit to explore because there were more things to see and more cats and pictures.
They weren't doggos, it was true, but kitty cats were still pretty good bois, too.
