"Right, so Tony's out of town right this second," Steve said, up to his elbows in posterboard as the class came in, "so today you just have me. We're going to work on protest signs about the Supreme Court, about how telling the truth still matters and about how all of the Senate Republicans should be ashamed of themselves."
A lot of glitter left over from the Student Council Parents Weekend decorations were adorning Steve's signs, but there was still some left for everyone else.
"We're going to throw together some signs, and then we're going to protest in front of the Capitol. If you get arrested, Tony can spring us before your parents arrive today."
Probably. C'mon kids, time to get your First Amendment on!
"Grab a piece of posterboard and get to work. I'll tell you about Judge Kavanaugh and his ridiculously petulant sense of entitlement as we go."
See? Tony was a moderating influence on Steve. Scary, huh?
