Brooding for Dummies, Friday, Period 2
Today, class was once again in the classroom. Not a terrible surprise, that. Jono was looking a little off this morning, though. He'd woken up with a headache, and was half-slouched against the desk again, occasionally putting a hand to the side of the head as if that would somehow do something to relieve the pressure of... hell, he didn't know what. An oncoming storm, probably.
//Sometimes even brooding takes energy you don't necessarily have,// he said, his voice holding a kind of airy, faraway quality to it this morning. //In situations like those, it's fine to just settle in for a good helping of apathy, instead.// He tilted his head, some vague sense of amusement in his expression. //When I was a student, there was an entire bloody club for it. Motto was 'whatever.' It was great in that low-commitment not actually doing anything but still getting extra credit for it sort of way.//
... He wasn't sure where he was going with this.
//Right. Calling an impromptu Apathy Club meeting today. Just sit around doing nothing, or doodling or playing games on yer phone, or sitting in companionable silence, or... whatever. Whatever.//
[Whatever!]

Re: Apathy Club!
Why did she care? Just another thing about this place that made her feel like the world had been flipped upside-down. She shouldn't even be focusing on that when she was being given the opportunity to just spend the whole class drawing again. Which she did. Sketching up the classroom and its occupants having their own apathy club (you could tell by the banner she'd added), all while, outside the classroom windows, what looked like the Apocalypse seemed to be going on.
Or something.
Whatever.
