Journalistic Integrity (Friday, March 24 - 3rd period)

"All right, everyone," Rita said, clad in a darker, more subdued mauve than the bright colors she was normally seen sporting. "Feeling a bit under the weather here. We're going to have an easy class. I want you all to find an article that you think was written unfairly. It casts an undeserved light on someone, or seems biased - whatever. You may go to the library or the computer lab to research it during this period if you'd like. Otherwise, free period."

Pass notes, hang out in the classroom, whatever. Rita doesn't care.

Yes, I'm lazy today. And foisting my students off on my other character. Shut up.

Feeling all sympathetic as Rita did sound really stressed on the radio, Cameron shows up after class with a few gifts. He's brought a friend with him too.

Rita didn't glance up. "Not in the mood, Mr. Crichton."

John comes into the room soon after Cam and just in time to hear his name. "Why not, Professor? All that flailing last night wear you out?"

Rita actually did look up.

"Oh, damn it."

Cameron ignores the curse and smiles. "We thought you sounded a bit wound up, ma'am." He says as he places a cow (http://www.officeplayground.com/walkingcow.html) toy on her desk.

Krycek signed in.

Rita glared.

John set this (http://www.officeplayground.com/shark1.html) on Professor Skeeter's desk. "You can hold this guy tight in case the so called Dark Lord decides to come back. He'll keep you safe."

Rita picked up the shark and threw it at him.

Barbossa signed in, then bolted.

To the library.

Yeah. We'll go with that.

"That's not very polite," Cameron sighed and puts this (http://www.officeplayground.com/fortuneball.html) on her desk. "Maybe you'll like this better, ma'am. Not only does it relieve stress, it answers all your questions so you can just ask it if the Dark Lord is coming to kill us all or not."

"Shut up. He was here. And he was known for killing people for sport where I'm from," Rita snarled.

John retrieves the shark and puts it back on her desk. "It's okay, Professor. We got you these things so you could relax. Stress isn't good for your cholesterol."

"Then why are you here?"

"To bring you these gifts," Cameron reached in his pocket and drew out a smiley man (http://www.officeplayground.com/smileman.html) which he placed right in front of Rita and in the middle of her desk. "And to brighten up your desk and your day."

"Yes, but you're upsetting me."

John opens his arms. "Want a hug? I give good hugs."

"Really, really, really no."

"What if I gave you a hug, ma'am? Would that be better?" Cameron offers helpfully.

"No."

"I also wanted to say, Professor, that I appreciated you apologizing to me on the raido last night. I forgive you too."

"I have no idea what you mean," Rita said, turning back to her newspaper.

"We only had your best interests in mind when we bought these gifts for you," John says.

"Right."

"Professor," John says, "do you hate me?"

"Very possibly yes," Rita said solemnly.

"Aw," John says and pouts. "But we've cuddled! We've shared so much. Besides, I'm a good student."

"Are you angling to get turned into something on your day off?"

"Ma'am, what's this fascination with turning a student into animals or hats? I'm just curious, is it a hobby or a fetish?" Cameron asks, because he wants to know.

"It's a PUNISHMENT," she screeched.

"And yet, Cameron and I have given you gifts and you're threatening animals," John points out. "We didn't do anything wrong."

"You are upsetting me," she said again.

Cameron points to the gifts they brought her. "Maybe you should play with those a bit and you'll feel better?"

Rita just glared again.

Cameron smiles, apparently oblivious to the glaring. "We'll just let you have fun with them, ma'am. You should really try to relax some more. Maybe take the shark with you in bath," he suggested as he started backing towards the door.

"Uh huh," Rita said, going back to her newspaper.

Cameron let her read her paper and dragged John with him before he could come up with ways to get turned into a jello dragon.

Janet signedin.

Janet was taking notes in the classroom. She might've been working on the assignment. If she felt like it.

Kara shrugs and signs in, heading back to her room. She had til Wednesday to find an article.
