The class was in the Danger Shop again today, and Brooke had managed to get it working in order to look like your average grocery store. Of course, some areas of it were in grayscale, but you can't have everything.

"Good morning, students," Brooke greeted them. "Today you're going shopping! But not the fun kind. I mean, I guess it can be fun if that's your thing. But you're going to go shopping for yourselves. I know you might not have to do this much, considering you order one pizza and suddenly the common room's stocked for a week, but pretend it's not. You're going to get fifty fake bucks to use here, and you will have to get everything you might need for the week. It doesn't have to be just food, either. Feed yourselves, of course, but what else do you need? Toothpaste? Tampons? Paper towels? You know better than I do. You can make yourselves lists if you want, and remember if you go over fifty bucks then you have to start putting stuff back. So, have at it!"

As his extravagant flower purchases may have suggested, Sidon was not particularly one to worry about money. The exchange rate from Hylian rupees to American dollars was rather nice, and Zora's Domain had no shortage of rupees! Still, he thought the idea of being frugal with his riches was a wise one, and he was eager for any challenge, even monetary ones that he did not imagine himself every truly encountering in his long lifetime.

While he wandered the store thoughtfully, he realized, too, that his needs were incredibly simple. Even his food, which consisted mostly of fresh fish, was something he could catch in the wild. But for the purposes of the class exercise, he was filling a cart with cheap fishsticks, many, many jugs of distilled water, and a large container of sale, while he tried to think of anything else he might possibly need.

"Right, so just because I'm on my period this week, that means more than 10 percent of my food budget goes to necessary supplies?" Paris asked, voice going shrill. "That's some patriarchal crap."

“I wholeheartedly agree, and will sign your petition, but until then the alternative is freebleeding,” Brooke said.

Paris wrinkled up her nose. "That would terrify some Congressmen," she commented. "Okay, so I have 7 bucks gone on tampons already, and let's be honest, at least a few on cake because of said needing tampons problem...the rest is going to be pretty much milk, cereal, beans...maybe some fruit?"

“Pretty much. Though you can replace cake with store brand ice cream if you want some flexibility. That’s a couple bucks.”
