Adulting 101- Monday

Class was in a regular classroom today, where Kitty was standing at the front. "First off, sorry about last week. Holidays should be forbidden on weekends, it messes up timing for everything. So, welcome to Adulting 101. My name's Kitty Pryde-Barton, I'm not really picky on what you call me, and this class is going to teach you some of the things you need out in the real world," she said. "Because I went to a boarding school and then decided to go to college and get my own place and there were so many things I had to figure out the hard way. And I wish I could say there's an ending to that, but I figured out otherwise when I learned what a pain in the ass it is to legally change your name when you get married." Seriously.

"So since this is our first class-" because she failed. "-I want you to tell me who you are and where you come from. I come from a present day Earth perspective, so if I need to adjust things, might as well find out now."

"All right," Kitty said once introductions were done, "we have a small class, so let's talk. Do you have have plans or goals for the future? Or do you not have any, which by the way is totally fine. Or what do you think it's like when you're out on your own?"

Seriously, I was so screwed up on time last week I thought it was Tuesday for most of Monday. And then still failed because then I wouldn't have remembered to post Caritas that day if it was Tuesday.

And then I didn't post Caritas because I thought it was Wednesday.

Hyacinthe

"I am Hyacinthe, Anasztaiza's son, from the City of Elua, in Terre D'Ange," Hyacinthe said, thus proving that Kitty was probably going to be in for a long semester. Apologies, Kitty. "As far as I can tell, that is the same as the country of France--" explaining his accent, if nothing else "--from about a thousand years before this time. Also, Cruith--English is my third language and my tutor did not know many of the concepts that are common now, so I might not fully understand things without an explanation."

His dream to be recognized as Manoj's grandson and take his place with his people was too close to his heart and his goal to be the celebrated Prince of Travelers would involve a great deal of explanation, so Hya decided to keep his answer simple, at least to start. "I am saving up funds to purchase a livery with my friend Emile. And with the proceeds from that, I will buy the building my mother and I dwell in. With stables to rest the horses in and rooms to let, we will do business with all the Tsingani who travel to the City of Elua, for who better to stay with than one of their own?"

Rhys

"My name is Rhys and I am a real adult," he said sullenly. "I'm just stuck like this until I can find another New-U station."

Kuzco

"I'm Kuzco," and he was a talking llama, "and I'm an emperor and NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A LLAMA."

He was soooo not taking his change like a grown-up.

"I'm going to stop being a llama, then I'm going to build Kuzcotopia and continue to rule the world!" Kuzco said.

"You...rule the world?" Hyacinthe asked, sounding more skeptical than he'd intended.

"Um, yeah," Kuzco said, arching his llama-y eyebrows. "Of course I do."

Hanna Heller

Hanna was torn between Llama?! and Awwwwww. LLAMA LLAMA LLAMA!

"I'm Hanna Heller. From here and now, for the most part." She smiled at Kitty. "I have taken this class before, but I am graduating in May, so. I thought it might be a good idea to take this course again. Just in case."

Hanna perched her chin on her hands and listened, because she really didn't have any comment to make on that.

"I am planning to become a tour guide, eventually. I like travel. And... perhaps body-guarding, before that, to obtain the funds." IT was still a little fuzzy. Just that she wanted her own boat, and her own exit from wherever she was, and a way to get anyplace she wanted to go.
