When everyone arrived for class, they'd find Sam leaning against a desk with a pile of newspapers next to him. "Hey guys, sorry about last week. I hope the movie was at least a little entertaining for you," he said. "Today, we're actually going to talk about ghosts instead of just watching something about them."

"Now, before anyone gets too up in arms at me, I want to make sure to say that not all ghosts are bad. Typically, ghosts exist for one of two reasons. First, there are people who choose not to cross over into the afterlife because they have unfinished business they left behind when they died. Kids, grandkids, loves that got away - these are all reasons for a spirit to stick around, and they can be totally harmless. They can even be a reassuring presence for those who are still alive, to know that their loved ones are still around keeping an eye on them.

"Unfortunately, the second reason ghosts exist is because the person died violently. These spirits tend to stick around because they can't cross over; some of them are trapped replaying the moment of their death, while some can't rest until they've sought out revenge on whoever killed them. Either way, if someone is being haunted, you can often find out about it in the news," Sam said, picking up one of the newspapers. "You're not going to find articles explicitly saying, 'Hey, there's a ghost here in town' but in a lot of cases, unexplainable crimes are the work of ghosts, especially if the victims seem like they had it coming. Today, I want you to see if you can find anything legitimately strange in any of these papers. Also, I'm curious - if you could stick around as a ghost after you died, would you want to? What would you want to do if you could?"

Look through the ~~moddable~~ newspapers and see if you can find anything legitimately weird. And then don't mind Sam if he calls someone about it.

"I'd never survive the boredom of being a ghost. Communing with spirits would be entirely too literal, without the added benefit of also referring to having a drink," Frank explained. "And I'll give up many things, but two things I refuse to give up are alcohol and mid-grade wordplay."

"Found one," Frank announced far too quickly. "The background of this picture here, where a group of ethnically diverse children are looking at graffiti that, if you look closely, appears in front of the wall rather than on it? And also the letters are glowing? Classic Ghost Writer situation. I expect that if you check the papers tomorrow, you'll find that some sort of petty thieving ring was busted up. Or maybe a series of strange accidents on some sort of film set will be revealed to be the work of a jealous person rather than the supernatural occurrences they initially appeared to be."
