The Art of Meditation and Kicking Ass [Thursday, November 13, 2014, 2nd period]

Today the students would come in to find the Danger Room clear of mats or punching bags. Instead they would find handles of training lightsabers and helmets, that, when worn, would cover their eyes entirely. "Today we'll put together your ability to calm your mind and concentrate with some defensive and offensive training," Anakin said, smiling. "These are training lightsabers," he said, flicking on to life with a familiar (for him, at least) snap-hiss. "The real weapon could remove a hand, leg or head if you haven't been properly trained with it. These will just numb your limb for a while if you are being stupid enough to hit yourself with it."

He put the helmet over his head--looking fairly stupid--and explained, "This blocks your sight, so you must rely on your other senses to block the training drone from shooting you. Still your mind, be calm, and listen. You'll hear where the drone is before it shoots at you."

He raised a hand and the drones lifted into the air as well. "Ready?"

Alana's ass was going to be numb for days, it felt like. But the lightsaber was fun to play with, so she couldn't be too pissy about the training technique.

Oooh, today's class sounded awesome, even with the stupid helmets they had to wear. Kathy was grateful once again to Anders for healing her up so she wouldn't have to miss out on it!

Chalk Kathy up as one more person with a numb behind. By the end of the class, she was much better at dodging the shots than parrying them. Still fun, though!

After the third time Johnny got shot in the ass, he decided to toss the lightsaber off to the side and "FLAME ON!"

A flame burst flared up around Johnny, frying the remote. "Did it work?" Johnny asked. "I can't see. Did it work? Can I take this off?"

Okay, this was kind of cool. And by kind of Scott meant a lot. What was less cool was having to let the remotes hit him every once and a while, even though enhanced hearing meant he could tell exactly where they were at any given time, and his reflexes were fast enough to enable him to easily dodge the shots. But that would kind of give away the whole werewolf thing, so. He was just gonna swing the sword kind of randomly and be glad that the lasers didn't actually hurt that much.
