Heroic Tales, Wednesday, Period Two
There was a television screen at the front of the classroom, and a bag of popcorn on each desk. Yes, indeed, it was a movie day. Of a sort.
"The Lady Rapunzel mentioned that she enjoyed tales of lady-heroes," Thor began. "So I thought today we could watch a film, and then read the tale that the film was based on."
The tale in question? Mulannot meta'ed since it is- however loosely- based on an actual legendary person.
Once the film concluded, Thor handed out a translation of the original ballad. "As you can see, the modern retelling embellished many of the details, and added many things not present in the original story. Why do you think they may have done so?"

She did think the tiny talking dragon was a bit strange, but how was she ever going to complain about what as far as she was concerned was an hour and a half of moving artwork with songs?
Re: Discuss!
She paused, chewed on her lower lip briefly as if she were trying to decide whether or not to go on, then (having evidently decided) added, "Though I do wish we'd paid more attention to her family, and less to some of the sillier soldiers, and I don't see why they had to add romance to it at all."
. . . yes, she was a bit old for it, but she was still at the stage where she found romance vaguely embarrassing.

She was going to have all of these songs stuck in her head all day. Not that she was complaining, at all.
Re: Discuss!
She patted Pascal on the head. "It's okay. I thought it was nice that there was a talking lizard at all." They were going to end up watching this a lot, now that Rapunzel knew about it, just to appease Pascal.
"Um, anyway," she added, actually addressing the question now, "I think they mostly changed it so that kids would like it, right? I mean, the original story is awesome, but it's not very funny, and there aren't all those songs. This way you can appeal to a whole bunch of people, and everyone can know about and be entertained by the story."
